In less depressing news, I was at Peter's a week ago, playing Beth's Hunter game. (Peter and Beth are really good friends of mine. They're dating, and have been for forever, and are planning on getting married eventually or something...)This all matters very little, but moving right along...
So Erin comes and brings her roommate Anne, and we're just trying to get to know her and stuff. It turns out that up until this past summer, she worked at a Girl Scout camp! For many, many years! It was great fun! Day before yesterday we serenaded some of the other people singing "God Bless My Underwear" and "Black Socks" and stuff like that. Wee!
Then, yesterday, Beth and I were bored on the bus. So I started singing the "Boy and a Girl in a little canoe..." song, and it was really fun 'cause she joined in. Apparently they'd sang it at one of the camps she'd gone to at some point. She was equally surprised to realize that I knew the song, too!
Wee! I decided yesterday that at some point I need to con my friends into having a campfire. Sadly, we're in PITTSBURGH! Literally! There's no place to have a campfire around here! I could even impress Peter with my mad campfire skills now! Peter thinks I'm horribly incompetent at all things outdoorsy, and until this past summer, it wasn't a bad assessment. But now I'm not!
Yeah, it would be really fun to have a campfire. I could teach my friends here various campfire songs, and they like to sing. And we're all either okay singers (like me) or good singers (like Beth).
This coming from the girl who never, ever, ever would've cared to have ever had a campfire this time last year.
