De-virginized!!
Yes, that's right, I trekked it over to Hadley tonight to see Rocky Horror LIVE! I went with Kate, Annie, Greg, and some other kids, and WOW was it phenomenal. It's not unexpected, though, that I had the wardrobe to sufficiently costume the whole group. It. was. amazing.
I got there and saw a kid I had been in contact with about the show, and it turns out he was actually a cast member. So, after having a large lipstick "V" drawn on my forehead by a Pleather-clad individual of indeterminent gender, I was given a "crap kit" containing all the necessities- The rice, newspaper, noise maker, cards, rubber glove, toast, etc....And sat down with the rest of my "posse". Then they had the Virgin Humiliation bit, which involved herding us all on the stage and playing "suck and blow" with the cards- remember Clueless? We all had to do that. Then they narrowed the 30 or so virgins down to 10- that's right, I was picked not once, but apparently two cast members wanted to choose me. So I made it into the final 10, where we were made to have a dance-off. From that they chose a Final Four....That's right, I was in the Final Four!! Then, based on audience applause and general noise, a Final Two were chosen. And....Yeah, I MADE IT! So I was shuffled backstage and given a tuxedo to throw on over my costume (Picures to follow, because MAN I looked hot....) and it turns out I was playing Ralph Hapschatt, the guy that gets married in the first scene of the movie. They also had a guy with me, the other winner, and he put on a wedding dress and we got married. I was onstage for a looooong freaking time!
The rest of the show was amazing. It was, of course, a midnight showing, which made it all the more splendid. Time Warp was amazing, I got all the common audience participation cues correct, and it was AMAZING. Then we realized that it was past 2:30. But....The last bus from Hadley back to Amherst left at 2:10. So, flaunting and basically shakin' what my Mamma gave me, I managed to find a cast member with a minivan, and he brought all 8 of us back to campus.
Again, pics will follow, because once you see this outfit, the rest of my story will get better. Upon exiting aforementioned minivan, I had a short walk home. Annie, Kate and I were all walking together, when some random drunk dudes started hounding us. Luckily for me, I walked away feeling slightly violated BUT five dollars richer. That's right, a five-note was wedged INTO MY CLEAVAGE!! I still do not know how to feel about this....
So yeah, there was the first positive moment UMass has given me. I am now an honorary member of the Come Again Players cast, and I plan to make this a weekly ritual.
