So I'm headed off for DC on Thursday. I get in late Thursday night and I'm couchsurfing the first couple of days at the George Washington University dorms. I have a couple friends going there too so I may bunk with them a night or two. Plus they will have free greenery. Something I cannot take with me on an airplane. Or at least don't have the balls to. Friday and Saturday I will do some sightseeing and some partying. Sunday is the huge concert at Lincoln Memorial so I'll camp out there to make sure to get a good "seat." Monday is MLK Day and I'm gonna volunteer to clean up Anacostia Park. Then donate blood. Then go to "Rebirthing America, Rebirthing King" at the All Souls Church where "many leaders of broad religious and political backgrounds are scheduled to speak".
http://app.cncs.dc.gov/mlkday/viewrecord.asp?id=326. Although I also saw a free concert at the Kennedy Center with Aretha Frankling and Nuttin' But Stringz' or something. Can't decide. Although I'm leaning more toward the religious speakers. We'll see. Monday is when Whitney gets in so starting that night I'll stay with them at their uncle's house. Then on Tuesday we're getting up hella early to go get a good spot at the National Mall. I think thats what I'll decide. Either that or the parade but I think I would rather see the actual Inauguration. My grandma will be there too so that'll be awesome. I don't have a camera so I'm searching to borrow one. I can't go and not have a camera to remember it by!! Then after the inauguration we're all partying big time. Unless Whitney's dad ended up getting the tickets to the Inaugural Ball. That would be badass except I would have to go to Ross to buy a ball-type dress. Man that would be awesome. I'll have to make business cards and network like crazy. Haha. Ya right. Then I leave really, really early Wednesday morning back to Seattle.
BUT
Then on Thursday afternoon I am leaving for Las Vegas!! That night, at Midnight, I will take a cue from the Gilmore Girls and drink martinis while playing 21. My sister, brother, mom, mom's boyfriend Peter, Peters friend, Chris and Whitney will all be there to celebrate with me. We're staying at the MGM Grand and going to this awesome asian place there for my actual birthday dinner. I think we're going to try and see a cirque de soleil show, I'd rather see Love or O but we may end up see Ka because we'll get a discount for staying at the MGM Grand. So we'll party and I'll be 21 for real. It'll be a blast. Then I come back Sunday night and then back to regular life in Seattle. Although I'm not sure everything will be back to normal after that.
So I'm pretty much saying I'm super excited for what will end up being one of the best 10 days of my life.
Look for me on TV! I'll be wearing this shirt:
