You don't mess with a man's elephant!
So I've just seen the recut Thai martial arts film The Protector. It was just the right movie for a stressful time. I'd read a very unfavorable review, and I'm glad the star pulled me through.
It's not choreographed as well as Tony Jaa's last movie, Ong Bak, but nothing is. He leaves Thailand in this movie, and people apparently are willing to attempt far weirder things once their characters leave their movie. "Perhaps," the scriptwriter thinks, "my audience will accept that, in Australia, villains have a cord that they can pull to summon forty rollerbladers armed with flourescent tubes."
I kept going between three happy thoughts:
