nineteen

It is just when all is quiet that I have come to the realization that in these times of peace...more are disappearing every day. Losing friends may be worse than any embarrassment the island is able to deal out, but at least we can believe they are at home, where hopefully they are safe.

Be safe Tsubaki, Yuki.

Kumatora.

How much larger are you thinking about?

...How large might you be thinking of?

I remember one of the more... important events of my world's history. If those are the sort of large things you're talking about, then yes.

If you do not mind my questions, what event might that be?

You are from the same period as Jr., correct? I have heard him mention you before.

It was the major war of our time. The Miltian Conflict, 4753 TC. A war between the Galactic Federation, looking to add the planet Miltia to its ranks, and Ormus, a smaller rival of the Federation who had long been the rightful rulers.

Ormus had learned how to tap into a mysterious object called the Zohar, which they were able to use as a power source. At the same time, there were several models of Realians that had gone berserk, causing destruction all over Miltia. The Federation moved in before it could get out of hand, sending in shock troops to potentially destroy the Zohar. I don't recall much of the happenings of the battles themselves, but the Federation came out as victors, if you could call them that.

It's funny you should mention Jr., though. The Kukai Foundation became a stronger figure in business and politics shortly after the Conflict.

Hmm. So the larger humans push their boundaries, the larger their problems become. I'm afraid that none of that means anything to me, I am sorry.

What is that the Kukai Foundation does?

In simpler forms, a power struggle on a much more destructive level.

I wish I could tell you. I don't know the particulars behind it, only that I worked for them indirectly. Asking Gaignun or Jr. might be a better idea.

So it seems the frontier of space has done nothing to stop violence.

I shall do that. Of course, the last time I asked him, I received a spiel on Giant Robots.

Will anything, really?

You seem to have a knack for mentioning all the appropriate things. His beloved Asher wasn't always his, and was actually made for the conflict.

I expect not.

..Ah-- so it appears that I do. It is made for combat?

It was designed in a series of twelve as superior mechanized units. The difference between Asher and a standard unit... hm. I would say about the difference between you and a normal human.

However, I should hope that your Giant Robots are at least aesthetically pleasing.

Haha! As Asher's copilot, I can say beyond a doubt that he was perfectly symmetrical.
