Today both Facebook and Hotmail are serving me ads for an online dating service called "Amo Latina" with photos of dark-skinned lovelies in low-cut blouses and dresses, promising to find me my "Latin Lady Love." I wonder why if these ad servers can figure out that I might be interested in dating Latinas why they can't figure out that I am not single?
Allergies! Allergies! When the weather is alternately cool and warm my sinuses scream, constant and shrill like a police siren pulsing as they speed through intersections. Thankfully the Tylenol Severe Pain and Sinus tablets I took (the name sold me) seems to be kicking in - but I will be happy when the weather normalizes some.
Had "Whole Fish in Homemade Sauce" at one of my favorite Chinese restaurants on Tuesday. The first time I ordered it back in February I asked, "What kind of sauce is it exactly?" The answer? "Good sauce." Oh, well, if it is good, then I'll have it. This time one order consisted of TWO WHOLE FISH.
On Saturday my old friends Amy and Jill are coming down from Albany to visit. I have not seen them since Jill's 30th birthday party, which was when?
Looks like it was 2006. Wow. When did all my younger friends reach their 30s? Makes me feel even older. Jill is crazy about meeting Kit.
I've been putting together my syllabus and reading list for the English II class I will be teaching at Brooklyn College starting June 1st. I am psyched to start. I am using feminism and women's writing as the theme and just recently discovered Charlotte Perkins Gilman's Herland on the recommendation of one of Kit's friends and I love it. I am definitely using it. I miss teaching. Expect weekly reports
like I did for my English I class in the fall.
I am eager for July.
