The photos of 'the Gates' are from last Sunday.
I have to say I was unimpressed. They look better in the pictures than they did spread across Central Park with crowds of people walking slowly through them looking as befuddled by the whole thing as I felt.
All I could think of was that if they were up long enough evenually homeless people would rip down the curtains and use them to sleep under/on top of. They looked rather thick and warm, and a lovely saffron color.
Yeah, so that was from last sunday hanging out with Kenny Ken.
The other pics are from today. . .
I was over at Zooey's sister's place where he has a guestroom set up with his equipment. We had fun recording some tracks and sampling stuff - but in the end there were technical difficulties that kept us from making any significant headway in terms of actually getting some songs down. I need to get a new computer and some better software and do more stuff at home. Zooey is very helpful and a good person to throw ideas against, but the simplicity of using the PC really makes it so you can afford to experiment and do things over and over.
When I recorded 'will', even though the quality was not so good, the advantage of doing it myself was that I only had myself to worry about and would often spend several hours on the same small part.
Time and location put severe limitations on our ability to do that.
