WHAT??? Did you say FREE Pizza?

May 28, 2004 15:32

Wow, only a week in between journal entries?! I do believe I've gone completely
insane. Oh well, let's jump into it.
Last Saturday, my dog Zac "The Ref" and I headed to Connecticut to check out
some ECPW wrestling. We met up with Canadian Superstar J Busta and headed over
to Fairfield to check out the show. Hopefully, they're thankful we came as they
had no refs, and Zac got an instant gig. The show was pretty good, although the
crowd was lacking. After the show, I spoke to the promoter trying to get some
work with the company so we'll see how that goes. It'll be cool to get out of
the New England area and see how I stack up with other wrestlers. Just gotta
keep moving. After the show we went out to eat, and my ghetto side came out in
full force. It was myself, Zac "The Ref", J Busta, Spider, and someone else
who's name fails me right now and we had gone to this bar/restaurant in Milford
Connecticut. We were glancing the menu when I noticed "Free Pizza an hour
before closing" printed on the back. It was quarter of 11 and I asked the
waitress about the deal. She said that they closed at 1 and at midnight if
there were any pizza slices left over in the kitchen, they'd bring them out for
peeps to snack on. I thought this was a great gimmick, especially since my
funds were low. I sat back and drank water for the next hour waiting for pizza.
The boys all thought it was funny, but hey, a brotha's gotta do what a brotha's
gotta do. And if anyone has a problem with it, I'll leave them black and blue,
and totally through! (Props to "TNT" Travis Lee) Anyways, midnight hit and I
didn't see any pizza, so I harassed the waitress about it, and found out it was
at the bar. So, I got up and ran over there grabbing a couple slices for myself
to bring back to the table. I was slightly bummed as they were small, thin
slices and barely enough to call a snack. Then the waitress came over with 3
slices for me and I was in love... lol. It was really cool of her to hook a
brother up like that (hell, can't blame her.. she was diggin the Black Elvis)
and in return, I made sure to hook her up (No, not like that!). She got a
really nice tip, way more than necessary, but it was all good. In hindsight, it
would've been cheaper to get a meal and give a cheap tip, but oh well. This
worked out best for all parties involved. We then parted ways as Zac "The Ref"
and I took off to cruise CT. Good times good times. The next morning, Zac and
I went to a local gym before heading to breakfast with J Busta, Spider, ACDC
Dave Cole, and Noctourne. Breakfast at Denny's, not quite the best way to start
the day, but oh well. Then it was off to the CCW show in Branford, CT. The
show had a stacked card and it was cool seeing peeps I hadn't seen in awhile.
"Slyk" Wagner Brown and April Hunter were there and it was great seeing them
again. Also Nikki Roxx and Brian Fury who I hadn't seen in a long time either.
Also, I got to hang a bit with some other guys who I've met but never really had
the chance to sit and chat with. John Walters, Luis Ortiz, Jay Lethal, Dave
Wilcox, and a bunch of other guys. Although I was only in a battle royal, it
was a pleasure working for CCW and I look forward to working for them again.
After the show, I was dead exhausted. We bounced outta there and after a few
near death experiences (I usually have just one per trip when driving, but for
some reason, there were a couple this time, and one serious one) and getting
royally lost, I got Zac to his place and headed for mine. I really wish my car
had an autopilot feature as I so wanted to just pass out. I eventually got home
though and things were all good. As I type this out, I realize it's Friday and
I have an hour to go at work. Thank god for Zo keeping me entertained right
now. It's really quiet otherwise as my dogs K Dawg and Q Blayze are off to a
prom (don't ask) and Milla is changing desks, so I'm all by my lonesome.
This past Monday was a dull day with the 9-5 and what not. I was hoping to get
to the gym (I haven't been in like a month), but that plan was foiled when I
realized I hadn't packed my toothbrush charger (yes, I use an electric
toothbrush) when moving to my uncle's and my toothbrush was dead. I went to my
mom's to see if it was there (I'm currently storing a lot of my stuff there),
but alas I couldn't find it. I at least got a free dinner out of the deal, and
I just had to buy a manual toothbrush to use until I have more time to search
for my charger. It was all good.
Tuesday, was quite the day as it was really busy at work, and once I got out of
there, I grabbed Dave Fournier "Referee Extraordinaire" and we headed to meet
Kevin before heading up to Buxton, ME for the show. The ride up wasn't terribly
memorable other than the usual laughs and what not. I think there was some more
text messaging fun between Dave Fournier "Referee Extraordinaire" and Gina Marie
(who was already in Buxton), but I don't know. I'm starting to think there's
something going on between those two. They're always texting each other or
talking on IM, and when they were in the backseat of my car, they seemed to be
getting friendly. Hmmmmmmm. We got to Buxton and were immediately greeted by
my favorite fans, the Rowdies. "TNT" Travis Lee and "Real Deal" Adam Berry
holding thangs down as always. I got to the back to say what's up to the boys,
and figured it would be an easy night as I only had Robbie Ellis to contend
with, but then I found out I was in the gauntlet match to determine who would
wrestle Gangrel in Buxton. I would love the opportunity to wrestle Gangrel, but
wasn't extremely excited about the idea of wrestling in the gauntlet potentially
against a bunch of great competitors. And that would've been after wrestling
Robbie. Robbie and I had a good match, our best yet actually. I look forward
to putting it on my DVD when I get to that point in my career. Robbie and I had
a back and forth match, and I debuted another new move. It's like a tarantula,
but a little different. I don't know what to call it, so if anyone has any
ideas, please throw them my way. Anyways, after I hit Robbie with the Final
Flash, it was all over. Up next was the gauntlet. I was the 5th entrant and I
had to wrestle Jason Rumble. He and I have taken each other to the limit time
and time again and this would prove no different. I had things going my way and
had just landed the "Best Damn Dropkick in the Business", but it wasn't enough
to finish him. I was going to set him up for something else, when he nailed me
with the damnedest move ever. He took me from a vertical suplex position and
turned it into an RKO. It was crazy!! After getting my neck, spine, stomach,
and back jacked up, needless to say I was down for the 3 count. Rumble went on
to win the tournament and he'll be facing Gangrel next week. That's alright
with me though, as I FINALLY get my hands on Quentin Michaels. He's in for a
hell of a beating, poor soul. After the show, myself, Dave Fournier "Referee
Extraordinaire", Gina Marie, and Kevin made our usual stop at Burger King. More
good times were had and then it was time to head back. I swear the nights are
longer and longer, as I didn't get home until like 3 something in the morning.
Oh well.
The rest of the week has been a bit of a blur. Tonight, I do taping for Skunk's
tv show which is shown on local access in the Marlborough, MA area. And then
immediately after that I'm heading to Buxton, ME to grab my pants which I left
there on Tuesday like a meathead. Then it's back home to catch a few hours of
sleep before getting up in the morning and grabbing Dave Fournier "Referee
Extraordinaire", Zac "The Ref", and Gina Marie and we're all heading to Vermont
for Slam All Star Wrestling. Good times good times.
But alright, until next time...
