[ An annoyed sound from the High King. And the suspicious background noise of water, but not the ocean - something of considerable size swimming in a lake more likely - as well as the fall of hooves, and the occasional flap of wings.
Yeah. ]
You know if you'd have listened to me in the first place, we wouldn't be stuck like this.

How did you let that happen to begin with?
[ Peter could be a bit more sympathetic....perhaps... ]

The load of beasts we've acquired is not a light load. [Catch the snort from Destrier.]

I'm sure that Destrier more than agrees. And now you're even heavier.
[ Well, your clothes are, and thus... ]

We'll simply set up camp by the lakeside until we're of better mobile nature.
[Yes, he said mobile.]

You're lucky it's nearly summer as it is.
[ Sort of trying to maneuver Salamander that way so as to make said camp. ]

What sort of curse is this in any case? It serves no purpose.

[ Peter says, because he's Helpful like that. On his shoulder, the pelican flaps irritably - again - and Peter then sort of cants his head to the left to avoid getting hit with it in the face.
The slight jerk of his movement overall may or may not send Caspian back under water however - what with how it makes Salamander turn. ]

Stop that!
[This only makes the pelican flap more.] By the lion's mane--Peter insist the bird cease this instant!
[He's not quite drowning but he is flailing in the water and thus making everyone else another splashy mess.]

[ The response is irritable but apparently Peter does have a certain degree of listening skill left to him; he stops with the admittedly useless batting. He resumes simply standing as he is, nearly knee-deep in the water, not as far in as Caspian. ]
What a mess. Honestly.

[How old if Caspian again? No actually, how old is Peter again? Yeah. Honestly. Again the Telmarine has to do a bit of shaking while avoiding pelican feathers, a heavy salamander tail, and his own horse's hooves. Caspian totally has a legitimate question now.]
Who is managing The Blue Light?

Us still, long-range. But if you mean, who's in charge, then no one. Fortunately anyone who is on schedule today we've no reason to distrust or think they can't handle it.
Though it's an argument for looking into mid-management.
[ Eying Caspian again, he pauses, relents with the straying thought: ]
Claire offered to bring you a towel.
[ Not, Peter thinks, that it would do him a lot of good being in the lake. ]

[No he knows it's a network device and not a horn but the function is roughly the same. You see, Caspian is more implying Peter is such the high ruler he would make doubly sure his orders are broadcast in a clear manner. This is a whole lot easier to imagine when the High King himself is being smacked in the face by a wing.]
...I accept her offer.

[ Peter asks, brow arched, frowning as he sort of brushes the back of his mouth with his hand. There are not actually feathers there but he has the mild impression of them anyway. He opts for holding a hand up to the side of his face nearest the pelican, which means its wing hits his hand instead of his face. Small improvement. ]
Feel free to let her know.
