Who: Yuki Haku, Momochi Zabuza, Doctor-sensei, Nurse lady
What: Zabuza drags takes Haku to the hospital, and then to his apartment
When: Most recent, and hopefully last! Log Of Doom
Where: Subways, Hospitals, Apartments, etc. Oshima. Around.
Warnings: Doctors! And groping by said doctors! :O
The sky was much darker now, but that was mostly due to some of the deep and low clouds that shrouded over the horizon. Strangely enough, it was only 5 in the evening. Zabuza had told Haku to prepare himself for a visit and he supposed it was time enough to get him now. He HAD to have him checked out. Zabuza could not have himself go through this guilt.
And he could not go through knowing he had hurt Haku.
The junior had pulled on a jacket, black cotton without a hood, long so it almost reached his thighs, and skinny jeans that clung to him like his wet hair. It was cold, not as much as Sapporo but enough to make him shiver inside the subway as he sat with Zabuza.
Zabuza looked down at Haku every few seconds, sighing- wearing black and baggy pants, a muscle top and a grey jacket over it- before shutting his eyes and looking out the window. He made Haku sit- he would stand although there were many seats available.
Just about their stop, the subway came to a crashing stop before he nodded for Haku to stand up(if he could) before making his way to the doors. He was rather eager now. He HAD to find out...
If he were in a talkative mood, Haku would've mentioned that he was fine- fine enough to keep playing on the team, and certainly fine enough to walk and stand -but he wasn't, and so he kept quiet, hair pulled back with a clip as he followed through the double doors to Oshima's hospital. The larger one was on mainland, but Oshima's hospital worked well enough.
Zabuza had offered to take him off of the island(of course, the school would understand- they would HAVE to.), however, Haku declined. "Lets go." He knew Haku was nervous.
But he knew what to say, when a doctor were to ask him 'what happened to him'.
Unlike the older male, Haku was quite unaware of what he would say, and so he hoped for dear life that Zabuza would have something ready.
The waiting room was cool, and there were a few other people there, a woman with her child and an old man who looked as if he could care less to be living. The pretty boy walked slowly behind Zabuza to the counter, gripping the edge of his coach's grey sweatshirt between his fingers.
Zabuza does not comment, but he feels the urge to wrap an arm around Haku and (whisper) tell him that everything would be alright. He waits patiently at the desk before nodding and has trouble asking for a room(it was rare that he had come to a hospital with his... extensive record and occasional warrants), but ends up making his point clear.
"Your daughter?"
Something which Zabuza almost laughs, chokes and feels insulted at the same time. "He's a boy and no." Just to prove his point, he pats Haku over the head.
He didn't know why this was proof, but he wanted to do that anyway.
The boy only looked down at the ground, slightly embarrassed by the attention- he didn't even want to be here, after all. He was used to be called a girl, but in this situation he thinks it would be far more beneficial if it were fact instead of myth.
Standing close to him, Haku watches through his bangs as the man behind the desk files through papers and makes entries into his computer for what seems like forever before nodding, waving them off to go wait.
The clock on the back wall seemed to tick very loudly.
It was obvious that Haku was uncomfortable.
Soon, Zabuza pushes Haku by the curve of his back, telling him to go find them some seats, he needed a smoke- he would be right back. He was rather nervous as well.
He needed to calm down(and what better means than a chemical induced stick of grass?).
Nodding, he trots off to a seat- plastic and molded like every other white seat, no doubt washed down with bleach fresh this morning -and curls up in it, watching Zabuza's back with a longing stare.
A boy, maybe three or four, walks up to him with a ball, red and bright like an apple. He smiles before waving it at Haku, who watches before reaching out to pat him on the head. A mother comes, ushering him away with apologies.
Settled back down in his loneliness, Haku watched the coffee table, reading the headlines.
As Haku settles in, Zabuza is leaning against the wall with wide eyes and a 'smoke' in between his lips, breathing in and out the separate puffs which leave him breathless- of all things.
When he is done, he sucks on the burning filter, not quite done- this is as if he had switched the tobacco with marijuana, he was anxious and slightly paranoid, he didn't WANT to be here. And he didn't WANT to have Haku here.
Haku doesn't want to be here either, but he had demanded it-
Agitated at the silence, Haku adjusts his posture and pulls his legs under his body, watching as a nurse comes out to call in the little boy and his mother, ball left behind idly.
He wished Zabuza would come back.
And he does a moment later, after tossing the cigarette aside looking at Haku before sitting down. "Have they called yet?" He asked, looking at him- almost amused by the misunderstanding.
Haku really did look like a girl.
Shaking his Head, Haku is silent for a moment before scowling childishly.
"I do not look like a girl."
Zabuza grins at Haku before shutting his eyes. "Course not, kid."
Haku knows Zabuza is being mean, and he is about to reply when a nurse calls his name.
"Momochi Haku?"
Haku gives Zabuza a strange look at the name.
Zabuza shrugs. Why not? Haku had lived with him for the longest time, it was only when they came to Oshima that they stopped living together(it was like prying a two year old from his parents leg- Hard to have Haku gain some independance.).
"Lets go, kid."
Zabuza wasn't planning on saying that Haku was his son, but he would definitely say he was his Guardian(he was, Haku was HIS ward). And that he was raped by someone (a demon).
The junior simply follows the nurse, hoping desperately that Zabuza will follow. (Even though he knows he will.)
"Alright, alright."
The nurse gives the... boy? a look but doesn't say anything.
Zabuza will come, he places a hand on Haku's shoulder, feeling more like a father at this moment than anything, sighing before telling Haku to sit down on the examination table(before the nurse had a chance.)
Doing just as he's told, Haku looks at the nurse.
"Why are you here today... Momochi-san?" Haku freezes slightly, looking at Zabuza for help.
Zabuza smiled slightly. "He's been... bleeding." he paused, looking at Haku. "Please call him by his first name."
"Ah, alright. Haku-san." She says, smiling softly. Obviously she's young- Haku can see it in her nervousness, but he would be nervous too, if around someone like Zabuza.
"Where? In his stool? Or urine? Or vomiting blood? Or?" She lists off many possibilities, and Haku looks again to Zabuza. He doesn't know what to say.
The man takes a breath. "It has something to do... with..." he doesn't know how to ask for a proctologist, but he knows this must be harder for Haku, so he does anyway. "Where's the doctor?"
"Ah- he'll be here in a moment; I just need to finish filling out this form, then he will see you." She said, motioning to her clip board. "How old are you, Haku-san?"
Haku was glad that he could answer that question with confidence. "Seventeen."
Zabuza sighs before sitting down and looking at Haku. He was sorry.
For alot of things.
"And are you allergic to anything?" Haku shook his head, and it continued this way for a few moments before she asked, "Are you sexually active?"
Haku glanced to Zabuza for that one.
The man nods, but presses a finger to his lips. "That's the problem... Not the actual activity- There's... issues."
That he merely TOLD me about.
The nurse nods slowly, and writes down a few words- request social services next to the answer.
"The doctor will be here shortly." And with that she left, leaving them alone.
Zabuza smiles slightly, looking at Haku before leaning back. "Are you alright?" He asked, frowning at the impertinent nurses back as she left the room.
He hoped that the doctor would hurry. He really didn't want to be here(for too long.)
Haku watches her leave for a moment, before looking at the other male. "...No." He says truthfully, cold on the examination table. (He felt like something that ought to be dissected.)
The doctor showed up a few years later, or so it felt. Haku only gave him half of a glance through his bangs, feeling as if the older man could look right through him.
Zabuza shut his eyes and leaned back against the chair- head against the wall.
"What seems to be the problem...." He pauses to look down at his clipboard. "Haku?"
Biting his lip, Haku glances- desperately -to Zabuza for some sort of guidance. He didn't know what to say, or to do.
Zabuza just looks at Haku. "Haku, tell the doctor whats wrong..."
"Anou-" The junior glances wearily to the doctor, who gives him an almost-sympathetic look.
"-I.. I've been bleeding..."
Zabuza sighs and watches Haku's pained expression. "Haku is a boy." He pipes in, hoping to clarify where the problem was and why this was a problem(even if Haku was a girl, Zabuza would most likely have brought him here anyway.).
"Ah, yes- that's what it says..." The doctor says, though he still looks mildly confused. "If I could ask you to put this-" he pointed to a thin piece of clothing that was the equivalent of a large smock, "-on, please..."
Haku nods, and the doctor steps out of the room for a moment, for privacy's sake.
"Zabuza-san..." He says quietly.
"Yes?" He asked, standing up.
Zabuza wasn't sure, but he had a feeling that Haku needed help(he wanted comfort). And he would be more than happy to give it to him.
"You'll be fine..."
He quivers for a moment- in midair, undecided and scared -before collapsing against him in a frightened manner like a small child. He was scared- scared of being sick, of being taken away from Zabuza, or worse- being sent back to Sapporo without him.
His arm finds a way around Haku, kissing his forehead before leaning back again. "Come on. I'll help."
Zabuza doesn't know why he is being so generous- but he is- and even more so worried, but he is.
Peeling himself off, Haku does the same with his shirt, and then his pants, not really very keen on getting rid of his underwear. Not only was it a little embarrassing- it was obvious he'd been around the block more than a few times, by the scars and bruises -but he wasn't very eager to be this naked with someone he didn't know. (You'd think he would be less awkward, but he was-)
Zabuza nods and tells Haku to sit down again, meanwhile stroking the 'boys' head with a gentle and damaged hand. "Hm, good boy." He praises, looking back to the door before sitting next to Haku.
He would be alright, he was SURE.(He HAD to be alright.)
The doctor knocks before coming back in, rather curious- as any doctor should be -as to their relationship. He doesn't comment though, and instead pulls a stethoscope from his neck.
Haku eases a little as his heart rate is taken, on shuddering slightly as the cool metal grazes his skin.
Zabuza gets up a moment later, sitting down again, watching with his arms crossed. The doctor is not nosy, which he rates as a positive at the moment, before looking over the subtle shivers that Haku releases.
After taking his pulse, recording, looking into his pupils and ears, recording, mouth and throat cleared and recorded, the doctor makes a noise of finality. "Well, I'm going to have you lay down- this will feel awkward but I assure you it won't hurt."
Haku- only a little frightened -nods and lays back on the hard leather pad, arms by his side. The doctor slides his hand up the slip and presses at his stomach, before having him turn over, and he feels the very base of Haku's back. (It all feels very odd, but not unusual-)
The man in the brightly coloured(orange, Zabuza took a liking to that colour)chair stiffened as he watched Haku be touched and he almost felt himself growl- but he didn't and instead shut his eyes.
"...."
If it were the time or place, Haku would've laughed quietly at the man for being so protective, but it was hardly either of those things. The doctor makes a few notes on his clipboard before lifting Haku's knees to spread his legs, looking rather dis-interestedly at the boy's groin.
Hm, very peculiar.
-Haku was raped, someone hurt him badly and the doctor had to help him. That's what he was paid for.-
"Do you know what's the matter?" He asked from his chair, watching the man who is... examining the shuddering boy.
"Anou-" The doctor glances to Zabuza, and attempts to compose himself. Rape wasn't something they dealt with often, and most certainly not with males. (What, despite all appearances, this boy most certainly was.) "...Well... Momochi-san," he cleared his throat, and asked Haku to wait here for a moment as he talked to Zabuza alone outside.
"I think your... son? has been sexually assaulted."
Zabuza does not answer the question, but he winces. "Assaulted...?"
The man could be an amazing actor. "Does... that mean he was raped?" He had to sound like after who would be shocked- what Father expected their son to be raped(if anything, he would be the rapist!) after all?
The doctor glances to the door uneasily. "Most likely.." He really didn't know how else to put it, other than straight-forward.
"Oshima is... normally a very diverse island, but there are still some hate crimes committed against... well, certain minorities." Though, perhaps they weren't the minority on the island.
Haku lays against the pad, breathing shallowly as he stares at the white ceiling, wondering how that blood got up there.
"What kind of minorities?" He asked, scowling and looking back to the door- Haku is lonely, he knows it.
"Well, the homosexual community, for one." He says, as if that wasn't- well -obvious by the way Haku looked and dressed.
"....." The man falls silent and shuts his eyes. "What can I do for him?"
"Ah, I'll refer you to a social worker, but for now... I'll have to give you some medications and ointment to stop the bleeding. Depending on any internal damage there may be surgery..."
Haku stares at the door longingly for a while, knowing whatever is going on out there, it's probably better he doesn't know.
"....Well CHECK for internal damage!"
What a moron. Haku was hurt because of him.
Taking a step back, the doctor nods. "I will, of course- it will take test results, though. A few days at the most."
He opens the door again, to find Haku curled up in the corner, just short of naked in the thin cotton sheet. "Haku-san, I'm going to set up another appointment for next week, and give your guardian some prescriptions." He writes them down quickly before bidding good day to the odd couple, hoping to see them next week.
Sitting on the table, Haku watches as the door shuts before looking to Zabuza, expectant.
What does Haku hope to get from him, that has not been told already?
"He's assuming you were sexually assaulted..." he sighed and came forward, picking up the clutter of clothing on the cool ground before placing it aside. "Get dressed, I'm going to set up an appointment for next week." This same time...
"Alright." Haku replies, pulling the raggedy thing off, glad to be rid of it. He wanted to get out of the bleached prison as quickly as possible.
When Zabuza sees Haku dress, he nods and sighs. "Did he hurt you?" ...'-Like I did?'
"No, I'm alright." He says- it was awkward, but nothing hurt.
"Hm. Then lets go." He waits again, watching him pull on a pair of pants and then his shirt- Haku really hated that little ... shirt(thing, Zabuza never knew what to call it).
Doing as he is told, Haku pulls his jacket on over everything else, holding onto the edge of Zabuza's shirt again.
Zabuza pauses to hug and kiss over Haku's forehead before smiling. "Lets go."
The junior swears he's never seen Zabuza smile so much, but he doesn't say anything, silently lacing his fingers through Zabuza's as he walks (quickly) out of the hospital with him.
Ah, freedom at last.
Once outside, Zabuza feels like another smoke, almost offering Haku one as well. "...huh." Soon he squeezes Haku's hand before walking further, looking for the duck in the cement- the subway entrance.
Spying said subway entrance, Haku tugs Zabuza along, even buying their tickets before sitting down on a grimy bench to wait, hoping that Zabuza will sit with him.
And he does, this time.
He leans back, staring at the open doors(this is the loading station, so they would remain open for another moment or so) before looking at Haku. "Are you hungry?" He would make sure Haku was well taken care of that evening.
"Mm, a little."
He could make it though- they had eaten a while ago, he thought. And aside from that, it was only a little past dark. He had to do things anyways. (Laundry, cleaning-)
Zabuza wouldn't let him, tonight anyway. He wouldn't allow him to go home either.
Simply put, Zabuza was keeping Haku with him that night, school would be fine. He had pressured more than one student into skipping the majority of their classes to practise him his.
The subway came after a while, and Haku stands up, pulling Zabuza along like a child on a leash to the double doors, finding a seat in the back- there's only one, and the junior offers it to Zabuza.
"...." he sits down after a while, watching Haku from the side of his vision before leaning down and pecking a small kiss over his cheeks. Things would be fine.
A small smile crosses Haku's lips, and he sits down on Zabuza's lap, holding onto a pole near his seat as they ride through the Oshima underground, knowing it's dark outside as well as down here.
"Zabuza-san..?"
"Hm?" He asked, looking at Haku with deep brown eyes, just locating the milky white flower of a face.
The boy shakes his head, deciding against whatever it was he was going to ask. "..Nothing." It wasn't important.
"What?" He asks, irritated that Haku was so hesitant. Too hesitant.
"It's nothing." He says, placing an arm on Zabuza's neck to reassure him.
He just wanted to make sure Zabuza was still there.
He wasn't going anywhere. Soon he wrapped his arms around the other, shutting his eyes as he waited. They had about 5 stops to make before they had to get off anyway(Haku lived closer to the hospital than Zabuza did anyway).
The ride was boring, and Haku was worn out from the day. He shut his eyes as well, head dipping down as he started to doze off- the quiet lull of the subway was comforting.
Zabzua opened his eyes after the fifth beep, listening to familiar sounds of an automated Japanese man speaking of his stop. However, he wasn't going to wake Haku, instead he grabbed under his knees- the arm supporting the shoulders before he stood up and made his way out.
Once making his way out of the subway, he noticed the dark sky and looked around, feeling the stars piercing the low clouds as he did so. "...."
Outside was significantly cooler than the hot, stuffy air of the subway, and Haku roused in his teacher's arms, huddling close to him.
"Nngh... Zabuza-san... this isn't my neighbourhood..."
To which, the reply was a silence of repetitive ellipses'.
Haku was staying with him, after all.
"...Zabuza-san?" He says, looking around. "Why are we- are we going to your apartment?"
It wasn't often that they went to his teacher's apartment- it was small, and not as nice as Haku's, and in a worse part of town.
Zabuza nodded. "Ya." He replied, coddling the other again- entering the building before fishing in his back pocket for a set of keys. A mailbox key, a lobby key and the door key(he didn't need the ladder, he never really locked it unless he felt targeted.)
The junior nodded, putting his head back on Zabuza's shoulder.
"Mm... alright."
Zabuza wondered if Haku would have been happier in his own home, though he does not regret bringing him here. "...." Soon he makes his way upstairs- finally inside before shutting the door and coming to his own couch.
It was rather bare, simple wooden floors, the occasional bit of furniture, but that was it. He just knew his bed was in the other room, with a window over top of it(not a skylight). "Tired Haku?"
"..Yeah." Haku says, rubbing his eyes as he looks around. The apartment hadn't changed even a bit since he'd last been here.
Still sitting on his teacher, Haku pulls him close, curled up against him on the couch.
Zabuza slowly strokes him, leaning back before staring at the blank wall, occasionally making a brief glance down at his little- ....
Sleeping in Zabuza's arms- which was nice, of course -was getting difficult; the vertical feeling wouldn't shake off of Haku, and he opened his eyes a few minutes later, still tired.
"Mm... Can I sleep on the floor?" He asked, sitting up.
"The floor?" came the response, confused as he had a bed in the next room over.
"Un." Haku replies. He doesn't want to take Zabuza's bed from him.
Zabuza wouldn't have the pleasure. It was enough room for two... but if he wanted it...
Taking his silence as a yes, Haku shuffled to the floor, curling up at the older man's feet.
Mmm, the floor was cold, but at least he could sleep now.
Zabuza was rather shocked. "HAKU...There's the bed."
It was his bed though.
"Zabuza-san, that is for you to sleep on..."
"I'm not tired."
The junior sat up, rubbing his head tiredly. "May I use it, then?"
"That's what is implied."
Smiling slightly- sheepishly -Haku nods and gets up, shuffling off to Zabuza's room in the dark.
Once he's in there, the boy pulls off his shirt and pants, going to Zabuza's closet. He pulls out a shirt- thrown in there without thought, of course -and pulls it over his head before climbing into the bed. (Secretly snuggling down into the bedsheets-)
