Today is one of those very, very rare days that I feel genuinely proud of myself. Today I created two Wikipedia articles in addition to my usual daily editing. The two created are:
•
The David Suzuki Foundation•
The Maquila Solidarity Network.
I'm also proud of yesterday adding to the Stockwell Day and Stephen Harper pages information about their 2003 letter to the Wall Street Journal condemning the Canadian government's decision not to participate in the illegal invasion of Iraq. This is the true strength of Wikipedia, not learning people's birthdates or how many times they wipe themselves after taking a crap, but exposing these vitally important details for all to see and making them accessible from anywhere, anytime. I'm very proud of the two new articles as they have true undeinable meaning, though they both will need growth. But most importantly their creation contributes to the success of their respective organizations.
Lastly the Supreme Court of Canada today gave the green light to the Canadian parliament to create same-sex marriage legislation if it so chooses. And it looks like Prime Minister Martin will decide to try. It is not a sure thing it will pass but it looks like the odds are in favour. Such legislation is morally needed regardless, but it is also an important brick of policy to seperate the US and Canada.
