Welcome to the jungle
Spent most of today cruising by transit. I need to get new dark blinds/pillow, and maybe a matress. I'll be OK, but it's annoying. In the area that I live in I'm now a visible minority, there is no dominate ethnic group. It does feel different, or at least it did when I became first aware of it. I bought Naomi Klein's other book, Fences and Windows. She has such a recognizeable writing style and writing 'voice', it was really nice to read her work again. When I bought the book at Indigo they were preparing for a book signing in an hour, apparently "Amy" the last girl to last on the first Apprentice wrote a book and is now touring. I didn't stick around though, it would have been interesting just as a bored social experiment to stay, watch, and perhaps ask her a question. Oh the possibilities.
Toronto girls aren't as pretty as Victoria girls. In Victoria the ocean air is all the girls need to look hot and cute, over here you can see the effort and unnaturalness of it all. Maybe it's just the two story billboard of Paris Hilton in Guess clothes, but I think I'm right.
I have to finish getting settled soon because I have to have some mental space for long term planning, like volunteering/job oppurtunities and summer options.
I'm having trouble sleeping. I hope it doesn't get serious. I'm making small changes to help things, but you never know.
Lisa Marie is eyeing a March or April move to Buffalo. It hurts that it's taken so long...But in the abscence of every constant in my life since I've moved I find the only thing I come back to yearning for is the wish that she was around.
