So, I went to Border's to get the third Merry Gentry book today, having just reread the first two, and having decided that I need to own the third. They didn't have any Merry Gentry books. In fact, they only had three Laurell K Hamilton books. Two Anita Blake (and not even two consecutive Anita Blake books), and one I'd never heard of. This struck me as very odd. Did I miss something? Isn't Laurell K Hamilton still wildly popular? When I went to Barnes and Noble last week to purchase the first one (having realized that the one I had was actually the second), they had lots. It was very frustrating. I mean, I could understand if they just had a crapload of Anita Blake books, and no Merry Gentry, since Anita Blake is inexplicably way more popular, even though they're very poorly written, and, at least in my opinion, Anita is a moronic bitch. Not to mention that the series starts out as a vampire hunter type series, and is now pretty much pure smut(I mean, at least the Merry Gentry books have never pretended to be anything but smut. And the smut has a purpose). But they only had two. I even checked the romance section to see if they'd been shelved based on smut content. No dice.
