Where the hell is this summer weather coming from? It just omfg hailed for about half an hour, almost an hour ago. And there's still ice everywhere. It looks like it snowed. WTH, Al Roker?
I've been cracking people up left and right with the bumper stickers on my laptop. My favorite is the one that says, 'Well-behaved women seldom make history.' Words to live by, baby.
Anyway. I went to my pain doc today for a meds update. We finally got some issues with my recurrent abdominal pain squared away. My pain doc is just awesome; I love it when she just walks in the room, looks at her tablet and asks, 'So what do we need to add?'. We got to talking about the Flagyl she wrote for last time (I wound up not needing it) and she told me about someone she was talking to the other day, who has been alternating between Flagyl and another antibiotic for 6 months, trying to get rid of a GI infection. All I had was O_O. Jesus, 6 months? I had recurrent cdiff infections for nearly a year, but I had some breaks in between each infection. This poor person. :( All I could think of was, at least it's not Cipro. That's a horrible antibiotic; I once lost about 15 lbs on it, because I was so sick. Back in 2001, when the anthrax scare was happening in the post office, all I could think was that anyone who went on Cipro proactively was going to wish they'd just had anthrax when all was said and done.
Awww, band geeks at the next table at the coffee shop. I feel so old listening to them brainstorm on how to run their sectional practices more effeciently. It's band camp season. I was a section leader in high school, and I made my section work, but we were the most tightly run group in the band, and the best. One of my best friends in high school, Matt, and I had to oversee about 15-20 people.. man, that was actually a lot of fun. We were the only section leaders that consistently gave our section candy. If I weren't a premed student, I'd be a music major in either music education or performance.
Yay for ACLS recert this month. That's $100 well spent.
