While riding home after seeing the oracles, Cordelia takes Angel's advice and calls Harry. It's only dawn in LA, but should be late enough in New York that he'll be awake. She hopes. If she wakes him up, she'll feel bad, but Angel has her worried. He didn't make it sound like Harry was dealing very well.
She hits his speed dial number and waits for him to answer.

He was trying to study, but mostly he was sitting at his desk, books open but unread, and trying to figure out what memories he would have removed if Sirius could do it. Jean-Paul went out to search for Cordy. Sirius offered to find out if she was dead or not, and Harry wasn't sure he wanted confirmation.
The phone rang, jarring him out of his thoughts, and when he saw the number he thought it must be another hallucination. After all he was expecting the worse. Picking it up on the second ring he said quietly, "Hello?"

Angel said he'd been having a hard time lately, so she was trying to keep things light.
"So, I went to see some oracles on Tuesday, and they didn't let me out until this morning. If I thought I could kill them, I would. I'm sorry if you were worried."

"They kept you for three days?" He asked, and she was greeted with his normal tone now. The shock was starting to wear off. "I thought...I mean, vanishing in California I figured..." You were dead. He doesn't finish the thought.
"Did they help you? If they kept you for three days did they at least figure out how to help you?"

Or tried. The oracles didn't exactly let her leave whenever she wanted.
"They did find a way to fix me, though. The visions will still hurt, but they won't kill me anymore. So you're stuck with me for at least another 50 years."
Unless a demon or vampire kills her before then, but we're trying to be optimistic here!

"It's fine. I mean, yeah we were all freaked out and worried, but it's worth it. You're going to live, and that is fucking amazing."
He was starting to think they were never going to catch a break. There had to be a price to it, but if she wanted to tell him what happened she would. Harry was good about not pressing for information.
"I love you, Cordelia. I hope you know that. It was really freaking me out to picture my life without you in it."

"Yeah, I guess it's kind of amazing. I didn't have to become a demon again, which is good. They made me an oracle instead. I have no idea what that's going to mean, but at least it's better than becoming a vampire." Had she mentioned that backup plan to him before? Probably not.
She couldn't remember now if he'd ever told her he loved her, at least not in so many words. She's known how he felt for a while, but this might have been the first time he'd actually said it. It was sweet. Smiling, she leaned back in her seat and looked out the cab's window as they drove along the coast.
"Well, you can stop freaking out now, cause I'm not going anywhere. And I love you, too."
