Simplicity
The number of people who have idependently, randomly come up to me recently and complained about me not updating ever is quite interesting. For all I know no one ever reads it, judging by the number of comments I get.. not that I care...! Maybe whatever I write isn't commentable, but is hopefully commendable.
So to those people out there, I dedicate this to you.
As usual, this season I've been spending lots of time, way too much time, doing my fantasy footy. In it, my major rival seems once again to be Patrick. He is top of the league and I am second*.
This rivalry stems back a long way, in fact all the way back here. It is a coincidence that this entry is almost exactly 2 years ago.
That time, my team was really quite bad and Patrick kept on talking his up. It so happened that we had a $10 bet as to who was going to win. That Saturday night we went out to Northbridge, and before going I did a few sums which showed me my team was way ahead, and then we were drunkenly walking down the street and I was giving him heaps and mocking him that he was going to lose. Then it he did.
It was great, especially at the time.
I play him again in a couple of weeks, and so that will be a bit of a grudge match again.
*I guess I should mention Baker's team as well, who is coming around... 290th (I think) out of about 180,000 people in Australia and the world who are doing it. His team beat mine, although he lost to Pat, so could quite rightlfully lay claim to a top 2 spot. As far as rivals go, though, Pat is my #1.
I got offered a job yesterday! Although, I don't know what to do. This offer seems quite good (although I am yet to see it since it hasn't reached me in the mail yet) and they want a response by Wednesday. However, I've got another job interview on Thursday, and so if I take the job, what do I do with the interview? And what if another, better offer comes along? But if I don't take it, I'm risking not getting a job at all. Either way it looks like I'm going to be working as a graduate consulting engineer in the city next year.
It actually almost makes me sick sometimes with the way I write.. with the 'howevers' and 'sinces', etc... I almost sound like an Engineer!
