All of the most amazing fic right now are WIPs. WHY ARE THEY SO FUCKING GOOD AND WHY ARE THEY UNFINISHED?!?!!! WHYYYYYYYYY. *sobs* I'm tracking all these like a mofo, but in case you don't have a paid account, you can get updates on several of these by following @ inceptionwips, a twitter account created by some smarty-pants anon to whom we shall be forever grateful!!!
And on the subject of fics that explore asexuality: I have a thing for them I never before knew I had? With the proviso that I'm talking about well-written fic in general, here, I think I have a kink for this particular topic because whether or not there's any actual sex involved, it's more about understanding and communication than anything else. I suppose it necessarily includes some of that delicious Victorian UST... and angst because it's one-sided... but there's still a real connection. Anyway, here are two by the wonderful acidpop25, who writes it so amazingly well:

- cobweb_diamond's drunk commentfic that turned into awesome h/c jungle!fic, but like, with hints of military background and secondary, original characters and other awesomeness? (Because I'm normally really not a big fan of h/c fic...) (at 20 31 37/?)

** I have little to no expectation that these particular starred fics will actually be finished, but THEY'RE STILL FUCKING WORTH READING! The other fics are regularly updated or by people who generally finish fics.

- Cold (Theodore/Blaise) -- I should explain that this one is a... it's a... it's a Harry Potter fic. One of the two HP fic I ever felt the urge to read, and of course this one is two minor characters I had to call several people to ask so I had even an inkling of who/what they were before just diving into the fic anyway. This is one of the most romantic, angsty, sad, beautiful fic I've ever read -- and to bring it right around, it's so full of understanding that I-- I can't even articulate? Just read it. <3
