Also, I can't seem to stop running off at the mouth lately. At least, on LJ.
Friday was a lot of fun! After work I met up with Rich and tried to find the Marvel bar (found out it is temporarily closed due to construction). Rich may be the only other person I know who's actually reading the Anita Blake comics, especially without having read the books. It was an interesting conversation; we both agreed that, (should the comics continue that far) they would definitely change the story line once it got to the porn plotline (around book 9, I think). We walked down to St. Mark's for dinner at Tasty Falafel (their falafel are so yummy)! Later we met up with Judy and a bunch of her co-workers at a bar in the Garment District for a couple of hours of hanging-out fun. I was told that I have a west coast accent because I have a decided lack of accent. This was confirmed by people who have lived in San Francisco for 8 or so years. *shrugs* "Lack of accent" works for me. Vivian, one of Judy's coworkers, and I hit it off -- we had lots to talk about re visiting Japan and lots of J-rock groups. She's cool. =D
Most split at around 11:30pm, including Rich, but then Yee (whom some of you may remember from Judy's Halloween party -- gothy looking Asian guy), Yee's friend (whose name I cannot remember), Judy and I went dancing in the village. Seriously fun times! It was an excellent night, though I should make it a point to be a little less drunk if I'm going to walk around Washington Square Park by myself at 3am (I certainly have enough sense not to walk through the park).
Saturday was also lots of fun -- another rock band party. =D So nice of Jerry to lug his PS3 over to my house to play. Not as many people this time, but that's probably a good thing. Liz, Jerry, Will, Maryann, AJ and surprise guest: Maryann's sister, Tina. It was a nice little gathering and we had lots of fun playing. I really love the Southern Rock setlist. Southern rock... um, rocks? Stayed up til around 4, I think, then took a nap until 5/5:30am when I drove Jerry home. Once I got back home I was more awake, of course, so I don't think I actually fell asleep til around 6:30am. Yaye for completely screwed-up sleep times. But that seems to be The Usual with me.
Sunday I went for lunch with AJ and Maryann, which is always nice. Then into the city to buy fabric for my Little Sister cosplay effort and then over to Judy's to bleach and dye her hair. Of which I am extremely jealous! I really miss having crazy-colored hair! Dammit!
And some more good news! My mp3 player is miraculously working again. I finally contacted Creative for a return authorization but decided to check it again before I sent it in -- this time it charged AND my laptop recognized it. I think it just didn't want to be sent away. In any case, I'm very pleased since I can now listen to music again on the train.
