Con Report Part II: False Alarm! No smoking in the stairwell!

Oct 09, 2007 22:58

Judy and I were outside the front of the hotel talking and suddenly groups and groups of people came out the front entrance. We kept talking but started to wonder why. Our questions were answered when the fire trucks pulled up.

So it was an interesting false alarm. I'm glad I hadn't gone to sleep yet 'cause I would have been pissed to have been woken up and have to get out of bed for a false alarm, or possibly even worse -- stayed asleep and then found out the next day that I'd slept through it all. It certainly was an interesting experience.

After all the excitement (and when the elevators started running again), I went upstairs and pretty much fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Yes, in mid-text. I don't think I moved until my alarm woke me 4 hours later.

So I had all of 8 hours' sleep in 2 days. *yawn*

Sunday was a relaxing day, but I was pretty darn tired anyway. Worked Reg from 9 til 12:30 or so, when I totally skipped out. =/ It's not like it was busy anyway. Hung out mostly in the artist alley with various people. Another opportunity for Judy and I to talk with Drew for at least half an hour. People started leaving and I was very jealous that I didn't have a car and couldn't just drive myself to my door. ;_; NOT FAIR, I TELL YOU!

Judy, Maryann, and I waited for the bus in the hot sun for around 30 minutes, along with a big group from the con. Luckily, we all got seats near each other. Maryann wasn't feeling too hot, so we decided to take a cab home from Port Authority. Ahh, it was SO much better than actually having to take the train and bus with luggage and bags and such.

When we got home, I had some sort of second wind -- which I now think was just me running on fumes -- and I took a walk around the neighborhood, picked something up for Maryann at Dunkin' Donuts, etc. It was a nice walk -- I didn't walk too fast because I knew I was already tired; and it was nice and breezy out, so I wasn't dying of the heat/humidity. When I got back I think I went online very briefly, but I soon gave up and again I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow. At 9:40pm. And yet again, in mid-text. ^^;

Oh! I totally forgot to mention in part I that I had a great time playing Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection (PS3 version) against Judy, Liz, and Ben! Ben is scary with Dragonov, srsly. Also, I really like Lili -- she moves like a cross between Anna and Xiaoyu; it's really sexy, and her white schoolgirl outfit is HOT -- but Anna's still my favorite. <3 They also set up GH:Rock the 80s, so Liz was ecstatic and would not be moved from the game... at least, until lunch.

So, I promised pics. Here are a few. Other selected ones can be seen here.
