Last night, I heard a tale of a man who had become so consumed by Halo 2, that when his gaming had ended, he thought about it all the time. In the shower, before bed, and even dreamt about it. How could one person become so engulfed into a video game? I began thinking a lot on the topic. If this one video game can take over one person's life so much, who is to say that an agent could not be created that would completely consume mankind?
They say the average male thinks about sex every 8 seconds. But what happens when something as simple as a video game slowly starts to rot the brain and the subject is thinking of it at a more constant rate, say every 4 or 5 seconds. The male is thinking more about Halo 2 than he is about sex. Sexual intercourse is a means of reproduction, vital to the existence of human nature. Soon the male is on his bed, a beautiful naked woman ready for him to take her planted right next to an X-Box controller, a game of Halo 2 ready to play on the television screen. What happens when the video game becomes more enticing to the male than sex? Males all over the world begin choosing Halo 2 over women. Reproduction comes to a crashing hault. And so does the human race. All that is left are video games. The machines have won.
