All right, well this was a hell of a roller-coaster for me. I really struggled through GUP by the end of it because it was frustrating me as well, mostly because Bite Hard went pretty much exactly as I planned, lol.

1) Originally, the way I had it planned out was that Arthur would catch Eames doing heroin, and they would have a huge fight and Arthur would leave. Arthur would go to Fischer, and Fischer would proceed to make a move on him that Arthur is inclined to accept (this part kind of got thrown into Rock n' Roll instead), and meanwhile Eames would go hunting for Arthur to apologize and end up at Arthur's mom's house. He would explain everything to Olivia and, being a recovering alcoholic, would help Eames get into rehab and Arthur would have to decide between Robert and Eames. I abandoned this ending because I thought it was just kind of soap opera-y, and I wanted Arthur to be less angry and more supportive because anger doesn't help a situation like that.

2) I had an idea for a scene in the first story where Eames would come to see Arthur while he was at school after hours, and they'd have to go running and hiding in giggly fits (ala Rose and Jack's escape from Lovejoy in Titanic) when a teacher heard them messing around. The scene would have been cute but entirely unnecessary, so I cut it.

3) Another thing I had an idea for in GUP was, when Arthur discovered Eames was using, he would tell Eames to let him try it to see what all the fuss was about, and Eames's refusal and Arthur's insistence would escalate until Eames would be screaming about how he didn't want Arthur to kill himself and thus come to the realization that that was exactly what he himself was doing. From there, there would be a lot of tears and apologies and then rehab (I always intended Eames to go to rehab). I decided instead to go with the illusion of Roxanne tearing Eames down because I felt like it was more dynamic, and I also thought that Arthur wouldn't be stupid enough to put heroin in his system, no matter how dramatic it would be.

Um... yeah. :P It's been a little while, so I had to think back on it a little bit, but those are a few things.
