a mountain out of a molehill

It has recently come to my attention that I couldn't be any gayer if I drank diet soda with star-shaped ice cubes out of a designer brand mug using a turqouise flexi-straw.

I think one can appreciate both films on different levels. It's not an either/or scenario.

I agree. I am cognizant of the fact that almost everyone (gay straight, etc) who has seen BM has loved it to death, but I just did not.

That's fair. I hated/loathed/despised "Titanic," although I was able to appreciate certain elements within it. (Mostly the special effects and cinematography.) And I could accept the fact it won "Best Picture" at the Oscars.

No, sugar, I bet grammarcub didn't, and neither did anyone else. We just couldn't figure out how to shut Celine up without killing her. Killing her, while we'd love to do that, is still illegal. We're just still figuring out how to get her to dress like an elk and have some hunter ''find her'' in the woods.

The appeal of BM is the underlying story of sublimated love, repression, fear, self-loathing, denial (for them and their wives)- not the sex or the ''fabulous gay lifestyle.''

It was all about hiding yourself and your emotions. This wasn't Jake's best performance (actually I don't think he has any good ones actually), but it was Heath Ledger's. He's never acted so well and never made himself such a believable person on film. Ah well, I still think Michelle was robbed of her Golden Globe.

* Don't hate me, but I HATE the show and each and every one of the Desperate Housewives ... especially the ginger one with the gigantic forehead. Why does her hairline start on top of her head? *
