I'm staying up to find out the result in my constituency. I think there must have been a recount, so it's close.

318 votes in it, I think. I gave up and went to bed at 4, and apparently the result came in at 4.56. Goodbye, Charles Clarke.

I think I saw that result roll in. Charles Clarke, Jacqui Smith; all the former home secretaries are loosing their seats!

I don't think a hung Parliament is a bad thing. Hopefully we can look forward to a term of not very much happening, after the dust settles. You were up that late? I had to give up. I have fond memories of counts. My Dad was a councillor for a while, and it was an opportunity to slide down the bannisters at City Hall and have races along the corridors.

I was at an election party held by some young enthusiastic Lib-Dem supporters who were certain this was going to be their 1997. The Party atmosphere didn't last too long, haha. I stayed up to see if the Greens got the Brighton Pavilion seat, which they did, so I decided that was going to be as good as it got and went home.

I was surprised. I expected the Lib Dems to do better, going by the press coverage. I didn't watch the debates.
