Originally uploaded by Orthodoxgypsy. Yesterday was great, all I had to do was get my residency permit for Munich and since my boss is away at a trade fair I had all day to do it. So after lunch I decide to go down to the office where such things are handled and I begin the nightmare.
First, I get there at 1:20 or so only to find out that the opening hours of the office I need are 8-12 and 2-6:30 so, I go home and change out of my work clothes and listen to some music, and then I go to a cafe and have a super big cappucino and then I'm back at the office around 3pm.
I take a number.
I wait a half hour.
I am told that since I am a student I have to go to another office.
I go to the other office.
I wait a half hour.
I am told that I need to have a account balance printout from my bank. Are there any Deutsche Banks around here I ask.
She doesn't know.
I go back to my place because there is one right around the corner.
I go back to the office.
I am told that I have to have another form filled out by my boss (who is away right now) and faxed top them. And only then will I be able to get my residency permit, in three weeks.
So basically, I am not going to get a pay check from siemens until around april. Not that it's a big deal, because I have money till then, but I just can't deal with all the bs and paper work.
