The cool change has arrived. It is currently only 35.4 degrees celsius. I might need to put on a jumper.
Here in Melbourne it has been above 40 degrees (104 F) for the past four days, and above 44 (111 F) for the past two.
I am in no doubt that air conditioning is man's greatest creation.
But amidst all this heat I cannot believe the Open has still played. I think it is appalling, especially since they changed the heat rule on the weekend before the Open started (after knowing the weather forecast), and that they refuse the specify exactly what temperatures or conditions need to be reached to cancel play.
Appalling.
