Vloggin' the Blues
Yesterday, I posted my last vlog before going into the studio. I included clips from a couple of songs I haven't featured before... one of them is a group favorite that I wrote back in, say, 2002. The other one's brand new.
Looks like I'm going to need to spend the next couple of days focusing on getting my schoolwork done and out of the way. Sunday and Monday are going to be entirely dominated by the studio. To make matters worse, I think I must've strained something in my right hand or wrist earlier this week - probably carting that damned heavy amp around... but it's slowly getting better. At least it's my pickin' hand, not the other one....
Otherwise, I'm pretty much ready. I need to sit down with my amp and my guitar and take some notes on the settings I want to use for each song. I restrung my axes a couple weeks ago, so the strings are right about where I want them... I don't know for certain whether or not I'll be able to use the hollow-body on the album; it's got a little buzz sometimes. We'll have to see. I do need to restring my acoustic... I'm planning on using it on at least one or two songs. And Skrat needs me to run by Guitar Center on Saturday and pick him up a couple of odds and ends.
