Dream world

I have been having the most VIVID dreams lately. So vivid they stick with me throughout the day and I have flashbaks while waiting in line at the convenience store.

Last nites was a matinee actually. Two completely unrelated dreams.

Dream number one: It was set in a town that one might imagine exists somewhere in Europe, with cobblestone-ish streets and old stone buildings. Except it wasn't necessarilly IN Europe, though this wasn't really clear. Might have been in the US. Anyhow, it was where me and my family were living in the same house.

There was some sort of major war going on in the world, with the worst of the battles currently going on in our town. It was similar to what I would guess goes on daily in certain middle-eastern war-torn countries, only greatly magnified. We were living in the thick of it and were accustomed to bombings and attacks as a daily occurrence. The fighting was particularily bad one night when I came home to find the enemy had taken over my families home and was trying to take me hostage(this part was more reminiscent of a sort of Anne Frank type scenario, for we had been hiding out to some degree from the enemy). The enemy had chosen my home as a site to install some sort of timed bomb that was set to go off. Somehow I escaped capture to find my parents hiding in a get-away van in an alley behind the house. The bomb had about 3 minutes untill it would go off. My family was motioning for me to get in the van, but I suddenly remembered my dog Natasha was still in the house. I simply could not let her die in the house, so I convinced my family to leave with out me and I snuck back in to save her.

This is when it gets strange and somewhat fuzzy. I sort of dreampt what happens next in two different versions; I woke up once and then began dreaming again from this point. Kind of a choose your own adventure dream, I suppose.

One version has me begining to search for my dog in the house, but my house becomes some sort of GIGANTIC maze of rooms and hallways that I never knew existed, making it impossible to find my dog before the bomb goes off. So I'm endlessly searching for her and this suffocating cloud of neon-pink smoke starts filling the hallways and creeps into the room I'm cornered in. Someone else is trapped in there with me and tells me to close my eyes because the smoke will blind me. And that's pretty much where that one ends. (my best friend had called to tell me she was heading to the airport to catch her flight to spain)

The next version has me somehow figure out that my dog is not in the house anymore and is loose in the streets. So I set out to find her and discover an abandoned gray two-door hatchback car that has the keys in the ignition. Im driving through the streets and see no signs of her and I am becoming weary because I suspect the enemy has set timed bombs in other houses in the streets. Everything is covered in soot/ash and the streets and sky are FILLED with smoke which is very hard to see through. I somehow get on to a major highway that is a little above the rest of the city. From here I begin to feel this is the end of the world. I can see everyting from this highway, no signs of life in sight. There were flashes of explosions here and there throughout this part of the dream. These explosions emitted the same neon-pink gas that must have suffocated most of the people, even the enemy. Then, up above in the sky, I see a plane as big around as about 30 GoodYear blimps. It is descending towards earth, and somehow I knew this was an atomic bomb-containing plane.

This was when I REALLY knew it was all over, but somehow felt this great sense of peace. I didnt want to have to worry about living alone without my dog and family. So the descent of the atom-bomb plane to earth was this intense, moving but serene moment in the dream....and I guess I just died after that(???)
