(no subject)
haha sometimes dorkdom is a good thing. Yesterday this 10 or so year old was looking at the anime dvds with his mom. And then I realize he's looking at the avatar dvds and was all ":D oh hey, that's a good show" And the mom was all "oh yeah, he really likes it".
Meanwhile the kid's looking through the dvds, obviously not finding what he's looking for. So I ask them which they're looking for. So the mom turns to me and was all "do you guys have the second dvd for season three".
Without a second thought I immediately reply, "oh no, that doesn't come out until the 22nd!"
yeah. being an utter dork is fun sometimes. I lol'd when the mom was all "hah! told you so!" to her kid when I told them.
Finally got around to reading Fruit Baskets vol. 17
Doing Akito and her mother? lolol Shigure I always knew you were a pimp. Though supposedly sleeping with Ren (the mom) was only revenge for the fact that Akito slept with Kureno (Oh yeah, Akito is a girl. But I...was sort of spoiled about that a long time ago). I sort of...don't believe that Shigure did it for that reason. He's a sneaky guy and probably was just playing the role of jealous lover because he only pretends to play the role of lover in the first place. Though I got say the last couple pages of them starting to undress and then Shigure being hot and semi-naked afterwards were quiiiite appreciated. Also, is Kureno Shigure's brother, or is Nii-San just something Kureno calls him because he looked up to him as a kid and because they're in the same family? IDK.
While we're on the subject of Kureno, seriously Ms. Manga-ka you tell us he's not connected via the curse to Akito anymore, but don't give us any clues on how it might have been broken? lammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmme. You're excessive amounts of flowers and paneling are getting on my nerves too. Seriously. Though you've also got it so that Tohru's brain is going to break any moment...I am so excited.
In general, this whole manga is becoming exponentially more like a soap opera by the volume. One of these days Tohru'll get pregnant and there'll be an argument about who's the father, ending in an epic battle royale among the male characters of the story. I'll keep reading the manga mostly because I've come too far not to get my ending. The ending better be goddamn good.
This used to be one of those mangas I'd recommend to kids who were a bit younger, you know 9-13ish range. And to parents too who were always like "o____o I am surrounded by scary comic books filled with lots of sexual references and big boobs, but my kid wants some manga. hallllllp". Not so much anymore.
I registered to vote today. Kind of exciting. It was funny though because it took me longer to find parking than it did to register, wtf. I figure be an independent for now and just switch into whatever primary I want to vote in. Easier that way.
