Christmas gifts

For my grandmother, made on Friday:

Adress book by ~Elescave on deviantART

A6. In order to enable her to leaf through the pages effortlessly, I made them out of 120g/m² paper and didn't flatten them after painting them. Dupioni silk, padded with fleece. The pages were bound with strands taken from the silk fabric.

Unfortunately, the colours aren't properly captured. The silk's petrol colour is much more intense.

For my father's girlfriend, crafted yesterday:

Blue winter book by ~Elescave

I like working with organic, natural materials. When I received the leather, I was asking myself how I could mold it into a book that wasn't 'overdone' - as in too much glitter and glamour. So I combined it with wood and feathers in earth colours, as well as yellowed pages from an old book.

The 64 pages are slightly smaller than A6 and have been adorned with golden lines that were applied with the help of a thick strand of whool.
The binding is made of goatskin that is died/tanned in a metallic blue (the seller calls it turquoise).

90g/m² paper, light brown and cream coloured sewing yarn, goatskin, feathers, wooden pearls, some torn pages of a book, flour paste, textile glue.

By the way, postingwhore , I have written my response to your lovely letter on Saturday and will be sending it off today.
feeez84  - I think it was the letter to you for which I lacked a 'par avion'-sticker. I hope you received it nevertheless?
