i never got an acceptable explanation why most people in the UK pronounce Edinburgh as Edinborough
some get even offended when i ask
the only explanation i ever heard is "that is how Scottish people say it".
well. they why dont you start pronouncing MOSCOW as Moskva. that is how Russians say it. etc. Why do you say Paris and not Paree?
