Let me make one thing clear...

...since one may have forgotten this lesson and  another may need help learning it.

I will not be violated.

In mind.  In body.  I belong to myself.  My thoughts are not yours to modify or manipulate as you see fit.  Nor will you force my consent.

Try to break me, enslave me - you will fail.

All would do best to remember this.

Try setting aside your arrogance a moment. No one has asked you to dedicate your life to Charles Xavier or his dream, and not all who choose to do so are blind to the faults of either. You are correct in only two things. I am not a telepath. I do not know what it is like to have to filter out everyone's thoughts constantly in order to hear your own. Also, that trust must be earned. But earned trust does not come from mere will or power, but by gained experience and knowledge. Most importantly, it requires compassion, else you are doomed to fail at maintaining any relationship with any of those you seek to help.

Do you know what it is like to have your thoughts not only perceived by strangers, but invaded upon? Do you know how it feels to have your essence locked away and still sense your body move -coming to heel like a dog- at a stranger's command? Do you understand what it is to have your mind, your body, and the priceless control you try to keep on both casually violated, because another person declares himself a fit judge and jury? If you do, we can continue this. If not, this is moot.

My definition of a wasted life and a waste of power, Grey? One whose supreme confidence rests upon his own arrogant biases, unwilling to compromise, unwilling to learn, unwilling to listen. Because all that creates is a crippled child, solitary and frustrated, with a gift he will never be able to put to use.
