National Pie Day - Jan 23rd

It's January 23rd... American Pie Council's NATIONAL PIE DAY!! Created to celebrate the pie, it's one of my favorite days. I mean, seriously... PIE! An iconic comfort food, pie is inexorably tied in with the history of civilization (dating back to 2000 B.C),

sling any baseless accusations
of intellectual property theft! and is keenly designed for optimal smashing in faces. Could you ask for anything more? Well... Cake. But cake has it's own set of days of celebration later this year.

To learn more about National Pie Day, visit the American Pie Council Webpage. They also have details about the upcoming 2007 National Pie Championships, this April at the Orlando Sun Resort, in Kissimmee, Florida.

There are literally a hundred plus other nationally recognized food days... Click here to check them out. Did you know November 13 is Indian Pudding Day, August 21 is Spumoni Day, April 19 is Garlic Day and the entire month of September is Chicken Month? Sadly, I did, offa the toppa my head. Yeah, I watch WAY too much Food Network.
