Progress report

Still bored. After over a year here, it's pretty clear that I won't have anything interesting enough to write about happening anytime soon. So in the meanwhile, this is just a little progress report of useless things I've been working on during my stay here.

Walking across the state

- I've been using the BART stations as a directional guide and have been finding ways to walk from one station to the other. If I ever manage to expand enough to reach the end of a train line(hahaha), I'll be freewalking from then on.

Currently: Walked from Daly City station to San Bruno station. That's 4 stations in a line, taking more or less 1.5 hours walking between stations.

Running up and down stairs

- "It's dangerous to run up and down the stairs" is such an old fashioned warning. It only applied to Dexter because he was running backwards down the stairs. Who would do that? I've pretty much got used to running up two steps at a time in forward tilt back in the Philippines, so this section will focus on running downwards. ...Only not in forward tilt, because that's attempting to defy gravity.

Currently: Feet got used to skipping steps, so no need to gauge how far to step before stepping anymore. Also, I think I stopped hesitating for a moment whenever I'm about to start doing it, so that's less time wasted. Stopped tilting backwards when dashing down steps, but still holding myself back a bit. Aiming for running down with a straight body. Or maybe tilted a bit forward, if possible to prevent unnecessary slowing down.

Walking backwards

- There's this long straight and empty path between the South San Francisco and San Bruno BART stations. I one day tried walking backwards down the path but muscles started aching halfway through. That normally doesn't happen when walking for miles forwards, so decided to try walking backwards.

Currently: Ache is still there, but walking down the whole path is now possible. Despite having road lines as a guide, my direction still curves too far left or right when not looking back to check where I'm going. Still a far cry from being able to walk backwards down busy sidewalks and roads.

Bored, so bored. Nothing fun to do outside the computer besides whims that come once in a while.
