Apparently not only does Georgia have a TV station, last year the owner ran a false news story that Russian troops were invading the country. After mass panic, the talking heads on Georgian TV admitted that there was no invasion...but there could be if people didn't vote for the current prime minister.

The War of the Worlds thing isn't as funny when it involves a country that really could plausibly be attacking you, rather than Martians.
