If you want to be apathetic about it that’s FINE FOR YOU I GUESS but it still fills me with rage every time I see someone being like “hur I just don’t care” as if excess media exposure is the worst aspect of the whole thing, like being apathetic is somehow subversive when it’s not because everyone acts like the fact that this country has a monarchy is no big deal all the time
Like it’s not totally sickening to see the monarchy flaunt its ill-gotten wealth while their country is having a financial crisis and watch everyone act as if this is somehow a booster of national morale
monarchy is terrible
monarchy is a tradition of institutionalised inequality completely at odds with democracy, fairness and common sense
I don’t give a fuck about the couple getting married because I don’t know them, seriously whatever, but I despise the wedding and the way it is being treated by basically everybody because it is a revoltingly ostentatious celebration of something that no country that claims to be democratic should actually have
everyone is either excited or indifferent and no one is angry and it makes me

I am especially sick of Americans treating it like this quaint romantic and/or humorous spectacle that the UK has a monarchy in the first place, as if not having a monarchy wasn't one of the founding principles the US was founded on
for fuck's sake
if you feel the need to disagree with me about this then please do it in the comfort of your own blog, that way I will not have to empty my stomach acids over you in a torrent of hot stinking rage vomit and everybody will be a lot happier
i am also not interested in hearing about how of course Americans treat it that way because to them the idea of queens and princesses and shit is this fairy-tale sparkly blah blah blah I KNOW AND IT MAKES ME FURIOUS STOP IT
