What is UP with immigration? Seems like a lot of my very excellent buddies can't move from one place to another for one reason or another.

What's your particular block? Will they not give you a visa, or are they just requiring something you don't have (ie, my friend Pramila needs a job and/or a husband BEFORE she can move to San Fran to be with her family, which is seemingly out of order).

Well the visa thing is confusing as fuck (I want to get a tourist visa to go there for six months and don't even know where to START) but yeah I would have to have a fancypants job or be married to an American to stay there any significant length of time.

It's like a work/study thing. They basically cut through all the red tape for you so you can go be in wherever you want to be. On the one hand, you have to get a job, but on the other, they give you time to travel and stuff as well.
