"When your love lets you go, you only want love more. Even when love's not what you were looking for."
Speak Slow by Tegan & Sara

"The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think-rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with the thoughts of other men."

"When an inner situation is not made conscious, it appears outside as fate."
Karl Jung

"When good things happen to good people, that's good. When bad things happen to good people, that's bad. When good things happen to bad people, that's bad. When bad things happen to bad people, that's good."
My 6th grade math teacher Mr. Macpherson who was, coincidentally, trying to explain multiplication rules

"Every cloud has a silver lining."

"The anarchist and the Christian have a common origin."
Friedrich Nietzsche

Well, this one isn't really a quote. It's the gist of a religious pamphlet that a Christian person on the street handed me one day. Basically, you shouldn't procrastinate repentance or you will go to hell. I take it as "Procrastination could be the death of you," even though hell is a bit more extreme.

"There is no modern romance."
Modern Romance by Yeah Yeah Yeahs

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
Marilyn Monroe

(and, while we're at it...)

Can't keep his mind on nothin' else,
He'd change the world for the good thing he's found.
If she is bad, he can't see it,
She can do no wrong,
Turn his back on his best friend if he put her down."
When a Man Loves a Woman by written by C. Lewis and A. Wright performed by Percy Sledge. Honestly, that entire song is true. The reverse is also true.

Basically, these are all things I've heard at one point or another. I've taken them to heart, or have tried. I nevertheless accept them as true to me and the life I've led thus far.
