Baby Blues was done on Feb 10th, 2009. This time all the grand Parents came with and us of course, so as a family, we contributed 30nis * 7 for an activity for the children of the South…or I think it's going to one kindergarten in a town that was / is affected by the shelling. [yes, they are still shelling us...so much for the "Cast Led Operation"]
It's true, our kindergarten does this every year, and we do feel as if we are "put upon" but I'm happy that this year the contributions went to a well worthy cause…I mean the children's ER in the Meir Hospital is also worthy, but they probably get plenty of contributions from other sources.
Anyway, the show was a bit long and because they have to incorporate all the groups, a bit dull…but none the less, the older kids gave a wonderful performance.
They sang a number of songs and they also did this funny skit about going on a Bear hunt.

http://www.dltk-kids.com/crafts/teddy/bearhunt.html DS best friend, that likes to be on stage did a wonderful job reciting and when it came to signing, well she just belted out or should I say "shouted" all the words.
We were VERY proud of DS. When we got there, he as per always sat with me and wasn't inclined to join his peers that were running around waiting for things to start. I asked why he wasn't joining them and he said he needed to "pump his arms first" "get strength" before he could join them. Oysh! What a whopper…I guess that is his way of explaining to me how difficult it is for him as he wants to join the fun on one hand but he is so shy that it's holding him back. Anyway, eventually…I decided I needed to urge him [I'm not sure, that was right, but I was getting skittish, worried he would not want to go on stage or something, Last year he did great but he needed a motivational talk from the teacher first]…anyway, he went an joined his peers and was running around and then the show started and their he was on stage and just did fine. When his time came to sing with his friends he was right in the front belting out all the songs they had learned.
Here he is at the start of the show, sitting with his age group "The Elephants" [btw, the decor was all made from recyled things that were collected]

[I think this was DS favorite, he sang it the whole time at home also]

The Monkey Song [Jungle Book]
Here are some photos of the lad who has come quite a long way, from refusing to go on stage at age 3 and 4 to taking part and even being in the lead.
After the show DS told us that his teacher gave him and his friend a hug and told them how proud she was of them, that they did so well. He was so pleased with himself :-D
Of course, DH and I also made a big fuss of him, not to mention his Grandparents.
one last photo. here is the kindergarten manager, in his costume, he is basiclly the reason why they have the ability to do this. he encourages music and the English language.
Oh, and btw, don't you just LOVE you tube! When DH and I get nostalgic will look up various shows there.

Photo Printing During the show he kept looking to us, "posing" when I took photos, DH was taking video footage and I kept giving him the thumbs up to tell him the photo was good. He also waved to us. I really think I ought to keep it up somehow even though this is an activity that is only done by his kindergarten, I don't think he'll have something like this in School.
