Hanson concert #2

Tonight was one of the best nights of my life, if not THE best. The day started out just fine and just kept getting better and better. Will picked us up from the college about 12:40 this afternoon, and we hit the road - We were going to see Hanson at Northern Lights. The ride up was great (listened to A LOT of Hanson music, even went a little retro-Hanson, lol) and with only a mistake or two in directions. We got there about 2:30, and the concert wasn’t scheduled to start until 7:30, so we met some people, made some friends, and hung out for a while - until about 4:30 - 5:00. The girls we were with packed up their blankets and the real waiting began, standing for hours in the freezing cold, WAITING and WAITING for them to open the doors - at least from outside we could hear them do the sound check… Anyway, the doors opened about 7:10-7:15, and we were pretty close to the front of the line, so when we got in we made a bee-line straight for the stage. Where did we end up: RIGHT IN THE FUCKING FRONT ROW, IN FRONT OF TAYLOR AND HIS PIANO! I have NEVER been that close in ANY concert, let alone Hanson. I was so goddamn excited I almost peed, lol. Well, we stood around until about 8:00, in which time I got to know the girl next to me - her name was Amy. She was wicked cool - I asked her if she read Hanfic and she does, and then I asked her if she wrote any, and she does; I was on a roll, so completely jokingly I asked her if she ever heard of the story “Avery” and she was like “Oh my God, yes!” I was so shocked… I think my jaw may have hit the floor. So I told her that I wrote that, and she was like “Oh no way! That is so awesome!” Then the real fun began: Ben Jelen got on stage. OH. MY. GOD. Not only does the guy have freaking amazing musical talent, he is goddamn gorgeous! He looked a lot like Taylor with black hair… Anyway, we made eye contact, seriously, like three times - oh yeah, we totally had eye-sex. It was great. He was received really well. When he was through, Hanson finally came on around 9ish. HOLY CRAP. I was SO close to the stage it was insane. That place rocked. They played Madeline, MMMBop, Where’s The Love, Runaway Run, This Time Around, Love Song, You Never Know, Strong Enough To Break, Underneath, Penny and Me, Deeper, Hey, and Isaac’s solo was Being Me, Zac’s was Broken Angel (I believe, but I’m not sure), Taylor’s solo was Crazy Beautiful, and they covered Ain’t No Sunshine. It was fucking AMAZING. Taylor got on top of the piano - he fucking jumped on it and slid across the top of it to reach out to the fans. He never ceases to amaze me. Isaac’s and Zac’s solos were phenomenal - they moved me very near to tears. Zac did this crazy little thing with “When I say HAN you say SON” it was so funny. Anyway, come the end of the concert, I tossed a birthday card on stage for Taylor, and the security guy put it up on the piano, well the guys were all reaching out and touching the fans hands and crap, and the first time Taylor did it in his/my side of the stage, the fat staff guy pushed me back. Well he came over a second time and… TAYLOR TOUCHED MY HAND. I was ecstatic. I can die happy now, lol. His hands were so soft… And hot damn, if you think these boys are hot in pictures HA! See them live. Holy mother of god… lol. I also got to meet Kate - she’s a real sweetheart - SO nice to the fans…
Anyway, that concludes the best night of my life: I get front row at a Hanson concert, AND Taylor Hanson held my hand. I can die a happy woman now, lol. This was just the best night ever…
