It seems, at times, to still be slipping and sliding some, but I've faith everything will turn out right in the end. I've started my new job, actually like it, and have been told already I'm a good worker (Wow! I can't believe I've actually got a job where I seem for now, at least, to be appreciated!). I'm getting 32 hours a week with decent pay, so that's good. :-)

My beloved Jack, on the other hand, was getting pretty close to full time, 38-39 hours, while working at two locations with his company. He wants to come full time to the one that's 3 miles from home here, but the other manager won't let him go yet. Turns out she's basically being a pain in the ass to him and the manager of the one here (who's also an old friend), because -- guess what? -- she's another close-minded, prejudiced idiot. *sigh* Supposedly, she's trying to hire somebody. I'm hoping she's find some cute guy she wants to look at so she'll let my man go to the store he wants. And Charlie, the manager of the one here, was just told this week that Jack can't have more than 32 hours, because he's still considered to be part time. Yet Charlie has three positions coming open and desperately wants Jack to fill one of them!

And I've got health problems on top of everything else. I've had two bad teeth for months now, was finally going to get them pulled today, but the dentist wouldn't touch me because my blood pressure is out of whack again. Now, I've got to see the medical doctor before I can see the dentist again. That's scheduled for Tuesday, and Jack and I have to go to his doctor for a regular checkup so they'll fill his thyroid medicine Wednesday -- that doctor's about an hour and a half away!

Then, of course, too, we had no Internet or phone this past weekend. It got fixed yesterday morning, and about two hours later, we lost water because the guy who was helping us and bush hogging our place (We're having to take it back from Mother Nature.) didn't see the water hose going to the trailer and wam! *sigh* But the water's back now, thank God and thank my Father, so I can actually get a bath now. Yay!

So, any way, as you can see, things are still a bit crazy, and that's pretty much the reason I've not started the comm yet. I do feel pretty confident, however, that once we can start getting a good balance again, I'll be able to run that Disney comm. Thanks for the continued good wishes. We need all the good vibes we can get these days!

Wow, crazy indeed. Glad you have a job where you're getting the recognition for your work, and I hope things work out for Jack soon! :D

Thanks! We can use all the good wishes we can get right now! Work's driving him nuts, and my blood pressure's driving me whacky right now. I can't wait to get back on my meds and get my brain back to semi-normal!

On another note, I did type down 100 possible challenges for that Disney comm the other day. I can use that file, sort it through a randomizer, and use the top challenge it spits out, so the challenges will be almost as much a surprise to me as they will be to you all when we get going. :-)

A randomizer is an awesome idea! I've been doing the more low-tech version with Comic Drabbles, copy/pasting everything in a random order and then scrolling with my eyes closed and pointing. I should probably Google a randomizer to save myself the trouble! XD

HTML for the header!

.headerimage {
height: 200px;
background-image: url("DIRECT LINK TO YOUR BANNER AT PHOTOBUCKET OR WHEREVER YOU CHOOSE TO HOST") !important;
background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
background-attachment: scroll !important;
background-position: center !important;

margin-bottom: 20px;
}

Now, this is copy/pasted straight from the Comics Drabbles layout page. My banner is 200 pixels high, but if yours is a different height you'll need to change where it says "height: 200px;" to the appropriate height or it will squish/stretch your banner. Also, mine is set with a margin of 20 pixels between the bottom of the banner and the start of the entries, but if you want to make that margin smaller/bigger, just change the value of "margin-bottom: 20px;". If you need any help, just holler! :D

Hmm. I've tried the code, I've used an image on my Photobucket account for testing purposes, and I've tried two different layouts -- April and Aquactic Moon --, and I still can't get the image to show for some reason. Any ideas? I shouldn't be over my Photobucket limit, because although I do have other images on there, I never use them anywhere.

As for the randomizer, I recommend this one: http://www.random.org/lists/

Hmmmm, I don't know. I can't remember what I said in my message to you now (I have the memory of a fish!) but I'm using Flexible Squares as the base for my layout - are those two types derived from that layout, because maybe that makes a difference?

I haven't used any of these, so I don't know if they work, but there's this site - http://everything-lj.livejournal.com/5481235.html

Or the livejournal FAQs are here - http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=s2howto&keyword=Header+images&filter=all

Thanks for the randomizer!

Okay. I have no idea why the others didn't work, but I picked a Flexible Squares one and that's working! :-) You don't mind if I use the same layout style, do you?

I don't mind at all! I just hope you like that layout. I think it's a case of some styles being S2 compatible and some not being compatible. To be honest, I don't know what S2 means, but I think it changes what type of code you'd need to use.

I actually kind of love what you've done to the Comic Drabbles layout. :-)
