Blood poured across the deck like a crimson river. Small, booted feet stepped carefully over the dead bodies strewn all over the ship. They moved in a slight shuffle and remained determined not to touch the bodies, or anything else owned by them, as their owner made his way to the ship's wheel. He clutched the wheel in his bruised hands and gave it a tentative spin. The ship sang in response, and he smiled a grin that was gaped because of the tooth he'd lost when he'd first been taken aboard her.
They were two of a kind, the child realized, both more powerful and beautiful than they'd ever been given credit. They'd both been abused, mistreated, and forced to endure horrible punishments by the cruel hands that had flogged him a thousand times before he'd finally cracked tonight. They'd thought they would be able to take him, tame him, and force him to do their bidding, but none could tame Jack Sparrow.
The ship was as wild as he, too. Together, they would make a formidable team. But she was his ship now, his to control and take wherever he wanted. His to name, as well, he thought. The Destroyer had never fit her. His blackened eyes roamed the ship, and through the blood that ran down into his eyes, blood he could no longer recall was his or his enemies', he watched her beauty as they slipped together through the churning, ocean waters.
"Pearl." His smile grew. It fit her well for she was as beautiful as any pearl, more so actually, and as dark, formidable, and hard as an oyster's shell. He turned her again, aiming toward the horizon, vowing he'd treat her as she deserved, and thinking this was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
The End
