Hockey afternoon in Canada

What better way to spend Thanksgiving than watching a hockey game! We have tickets for the Devils vs. Sens game today, and since it's our first game of the year, I'm really excited. :) I like Sports, but hockey is the one I watch the most closely, followed by football (NFL and CFL).

Hockey is so much part of our culture here in Canada, that it's hard to escape even if I wanted to. And football is easy to follow as the season is short and most games are on the weekend when I have time to watch. Baseball, on the other hand, has far too many games, so I only start getting interested around playoff time. I was rooting for the Cubs and Phils since they were new and interesting, so I'm sad that they are both out now. Basketball holds no interest at all.

In hockey, I tend to root for most of the Canadian teams other than Montreal, which is the team I love to hate. I also like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Detroit, and Boston.

In football, I like the Vikings, since I grew up watching them on cable all the time. I also like New England, Buffalo, San Francisco, and Seattle. But with football, things change more often. I used to like Miami, but lately I don't like them as much, and I think I'm starting to like Arizona now, for some unexplained reason.

How about all of you? What are your favorite sports teams?
