The courts are considering another appeal in the Terri Shiavo case.
Honestly, let her die. She is not the same person that she was 15 years ago before her heart stopped and her brain was deprived of oxygen. The person she was died then. I firmly believe that her husband is right in this case. I cannot possibly think of anyone who would fervently wish to be kept alive via a feeding tube. Shiavo is dead. It is only her body that is being kept alive while her parents and her husband argue over who is in the right here.
The good thing about this is that it sparked a very frank and honest conversation between me and my parents. I point blank said that if something like that happens to me and I'm left a vegetable, let me die. I do not want to live like that, dependant on doctors and nurses to keep me alive. I plan on writing that down, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. My parents said the same thing, that if something happens to them that they do not want to be kept alive artifically. That is not living, that is being a human doll.
However, I also want someone to kill me if I get Alzheimers and end up like my grandmother and now my aunt. So really, I guess I can only live until I'm like 65, and then will have to be put down. Oh well, I'm only 20, I have plenty of years left.
I apologize for being a bit morbid today, this case is just bugging me.
