Would you consider a midwife instead? geminigirl October 3 2011, 15:48:22 UTC
I love Kelli Johnson, who is a midwife who practices in Winter Springs. She's a CPM though, not a CNM, and so she can't write prescriptions for you, but she can do a well woman exam and if you're interested in a copper IUD she does insert those.

Quite a few of my friends say wonderful things about Kaleen Richards at Tree of Life Birthing and Gynecology in Sanford-she's a CNM, so she would be able to do a well woman exam and offer prescription birth control options. I haven't seen her, so I don't actually have a personal recommendation. I've also heard positive things from most of my friends about Cathy Rudolph at Florida Women's Center Altamonte in Altamonte Springs-I've met Cathy a few times but never been a patient or client of hers.

I have seen both Dr. Parker and Susan Vaughan (a CNM) at Advanced Women's Health Specialists in Lake Mary and would recommend both of them. Dr. Parker is male FYI, and I know that makes some people uncomfortable, but I found him to be caring, considerate and gentle-in fact, better than some of the female doctors I've seen for reproductive health stuff. I've also heard good things about his colleague Dr. Boulting, (also male) but again-no personal experience with him.
