Europeans are funny.

For example, when French dairy farmers protest they do not receive enough subsides, they pour untold liters of milk on the streets.

And when the Italians are opposed to a new city dump, they pour untold kilos of garbage on the streets:

Nah, you got that wrong, they were (it's ooold) protesting about too strict quotas (they cannot sell more than what the EU decides) and that's why they were pouring milk down the streets ("if we can't sell it, let's throw it away"). Still a stupid waste, but at least, there's a reason behind it.

Not touching the Naples situation AT ALL.
Oh, just one thing: they won't be sanctioned, no-one ever is. At worst, the EU will tell them they've been naughty members and please don't do it again. That's it.

1) Really? I thought it was because they wanted more tax money, plus more (!) protection from foreign producers. Oh well... :)

2) Not even a slap on the wrist? :O

2) if I had replied earlier, I'd have said "yeah, a slap on the wrist, maybe" but nowadays, we are all too busy "saving" Ireland to care about anything else.
