and one more thing...

You may have noticed that this community allows fan fiction. Which I write quite a bit of. So...

This is called Indiscretions, and it was the first Orlando fic I've ever written. I usally write boy bands so it has a few boy band appearances. And some Elijah, too. Anyway, here it is. Oh, and I'm a feedback whore, so feedback would be nice.

Prologue:

Gen was laying silently on her bed, staring at the ceiling and wondering why she wasn't crying. It had been almost a week, five days, and already the tears had stopped. She had thought it would last much longer.
She lay on her back, hands crossed behind her head, just thinking. Six days ago, she had been in love. In truth, she still was. There was not much he could do that would stop that, and even this hadn't been enough to cease her love for him. Six days ago, she had been thinking above vacations and an gorgeous apartment in London -- no, not an apartment. A flat. She smiled. He had been teaching her a bit of his slang, and she had been doing pretty well.
So there was their flat, the one they had looked at. And the trip to the Seychelles, which would have been coming up in a few days. That had been his idea.
"A little time away, that's what we need," he had confided quietly one night. "Then we can come back to New York, and face up to the cameras and the papers, all right?"
They had been keeping things quiet for ages now, and it was becoming a strange. But he kept saying, "Just a bit longer." He liked the anonymity of it. Ever since those damn Ring movies, he was getting recognized everywhere, and he hated it.
Gen herself hadn't minded, she was used to it. It kind of came with her job description. But for him, it was a little unnerving, and she understood. The rumors had been there all along, and their family and friends had all known. And then this happened.
She hadn't even heard it from him, and that made it all the worse. He had been away -- he had just said it was ‘business' and Gen had never pressed the subject. And then she had seen it on Extra. Just a passing glance, she caught her face there in an inset photo, spliced between one of Orlando himself and Delilah, and she left it. Normally she would have flipped past whatever rumor was being spread, but Delilah's photo had stopped her.
"...but Irish model-actress Delilah Bennet set the rumors straight. This weekend in LA, Orlando Bloom and Delilah became a proud parents to Lorelei Delilah Bloom. The two had been rumored to be dating last October but were said to have broken it off. Bloom had been recently linked to Mtv VJ Genevieve Jayde, but apparently the rumors were false. Bloom's publicist had no comment on the story, but Ms. Bennet's press agent supplied us with a statement saying that Delilah and Orlando are a happy couple who just became a happy family. There had been speculation as to the father of Delilah's child throughout her pregnancy but she had refused to answer..."
Suddenly, Gen realized why she wasn't crying. She simply lacked the strength to do it any longer. For days on end she had cried, feeling an ache she had never thought possible, and now, though that ache was still present, the tears had stopped. Gen hadn't any left to shed.
She had a feeling that ache would remain, gnawing at her heart, for a long time to come.

Chapter One:

Personal lives were of no matter to Gen's bosses. They didn't care what she did on her own time, as long as she showed up for work on time and smiled for the cameras. They were even quite pleased to find out that her upcoming vacation had been canceled, because they no longer needed to find a replacement for her during her time off.
"Such an ass..." Gen muttered under her breath as she stalked out of the studio manager's office. It was a beautiful July afternoon, and Gen was at Mtv's Times Square studio.
"Yes, that he is," a voice added beside her, and Gen smiled to see a friend and fellow VJ walking beside her.
"Hey Cate," Gen said with a sigh. "What are you doing here?"
"I had a live news update about ten minutes ago," Cate explained. She was an old pro at Mtv -- she had been working there for two whole years. Gen only had a year as a VJ. "I didn't think I'd be seeing you here for a while, though. I figured you'd take your vacation time to... cool off."
Gen frowned. "That's what people would expect, I suppose. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do, though. He's made me look like an idiot!"
Cate laughed. "You didn't need his help for that!"
Gen gaped for a moment, unsure of how to react. For almost a week, everyone had been walking on eggshells around her, afraid to say or do anything that might upset her. Cate, however, seemed to be taking a completely different approach, and Gen couldn't help herself. She burst out laughing.
She began laughing so hard, she had to reach out and grab Cate's shoulder to steady herself, and Cate smiled. It was just the reaction she was hoping for.
"So really, how are you doing?" Cate pressed.
Gen smiled weakly. "I've been better," she replied. "But I've been worse too, I guess. Really, though, I don't know what to say to anyone, or even do."
"You need to do what you should have done as soon as you heard about all this mess," Cate replied, shaking her mess of auburn curls. "I don't understand why you even hesitated. Call Justin."
Gen frowned. "That's... I don't know. A last resort, I guess. It's something I'd only consider if I didn't have any more options."
"Gen, what options do you have?" Cate replied. "You said it yourself. You don't know what else to do. When they asked if you and Orlando were dating, Gen, all you did was smile. You need a reason for that kind of response, because it's looking like you were playing it out for publicity since he and his bitch have decided to pretend they're all lovey for the sake of the brat."
Gen laughed again. Cate definitely had a way with words.
"All right, fine, I'll do it," Gen said, sighing heavily. "But I'm telling you now, this is probably the worst thing I could do."
Cate smiled sadly. "Face it, Gen. It's the last card you have left to play."

A production assistant walking by asked Cate to go to make-up, leaving Gen to stand alone and contemplate her actions. It seemed Cate was right; there really wasn't anything left to do. She had just reached to pull her cellular phone off of her belt clip when it began to ring.
"Hello?" Gen asked uncertainly, having not recognized the phone number.
"Gen, it's me, please don't hang up!" Orlando sputtered out quickly. She had hung up on half of his phone calls, and ignored the other half completely, not even bothering to answer.
Gen, confident now in her decision on what she should do, didn't hang up. "And why the hell shouldn't I?" she asked.
"You haven't given me a chance to explain!" Orlando told her. As he spoke, Gen could heart the cry of an infant in the background.
"Oh, I think that's all the explanation I need," she replied, and quickly hung up the phone.

She was angry now. How DARE he call her! And try to explain? What was there to explain?! His supposed ex-girlfriend had given birth to his child. No matter what the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy were, or the real meaning of his supposed relationship with Delilah, the fact remained that he had left Gen to go to her. He had let the world know that the baby was his, that he was with Delilah, when he had stopped Gen from so much as telling any more than her closest friends about their relationship. There was simply nothing left for him to explain. Gen could see quite clearly what was going on.
She quickly dialed a number on her cell phone, hoping he would answer. After three or four rings, a sleepy voice answered.
"‘Lo?" he mumbled.
Gen laughed. "It's almost two in the afternoon, Justin, what are you still doing in bed?!"
"I'm not in bed!" he protested. "I'm backstage at some venue in Milwaukee. And you're calling me because...?"
"Don't sound too happy to hear from me or anything," Gen replied shortly.
It was Justin's turn to laugh. "Oh you know I love hearin' from you baby. What's up?"
"I need a little favor from you," Gen said, using her sweetest tone.
Justin laughed again. "Yeah, I'd say so. I just saw Access Hollywood. You got yourself mixed up in some nasty stuff there, doll. You still going through with that cross to Mtv Select?"
"Damn right," Gen replied. "I'm not gonna let him think I made the decision over a trans-continental move based just on him. That's why I need you."
Justin paused a moment, then sighed. "It's been a long time since you said that to me."
"And it will be even longer if you don't help me out," Gen replied. "You know what I want?"
"Of course," he told her. "And you know I'd do anything for you, so why even ask? Go right ahead, tell the world if you need to. Just remember that I'm going to get an ass-kicking from everyone from my mother to my publicist, so you're gonna owe me big time."
"Thanks, Justin," Gen replied with a relieved sigh. "I definitely owe you. I... I don't even know what to say. You've always been there for me."
"And I always will," he said. "Now, you're on air soon, right?"
"Um, I think so,"Gen told him. "I heard someone mention something about an interview on TRL."
"Figures," Justin replied. "Then I gotta let you go so I can call my mom and break the news before you break it on national television."

Twenty minutes later, Gen was standing on the TRL set with Cate, who was filling in as host for the day. Between the seventh and sixth videos of the day, they were going to do a little spin doctoring.
"So, Gen," Cate began, "You've been finding yourself on the news a lot lately, haven't you?"
Gen smiled and laughed. "Yes, I have," she agreed. "And that's why I dropped by the studio today, even though I'm supposed to be relaxing on a sunny beach somewhere right about now!"
"You've been nagged for months about Orlando Bloom," Cate filled in, "And you never made a remark about him. Now we're hearing that he's got a baby and a girlfriend, and it's not you. What gives?"
"Well I never responded to all those rumors because I thought they were hysterical!" Gen replied, laughing again. "I mean, sure, Orlando and I are friends, but I could never be involved with him THAT way!"
"And why not?" Cate asked. "I'm sure a lot of ladies right here in our studio audience would love to be his baby's momma."
Gen laughed again, stretching it out to leave time for the inevitable catcalls and laughter from the studio audience. "I can't believe I'm letting the cat out of the bag like this, but I guess I have no choice," Gen replied. "You see, the truth is... I've been married to Justin Timberlake for three years this September."
