Wonderful recap! I'm so glad you were able to begin and end together - that makes such a difference. Sorry I never saw you at Freedom Plaza - that was my Pit Stop that day. It was . . . interesting . . . with all of the equality marchers coming through. Most of them were wonderful, but there were the occasional people with entitlement issues who wouldn't understand why we couldn't provide food and water and portajohns for *them*, and accused us of being on a power trip or being prejudiced against gays. ::facepalm::

And yeah, walking is generally easier than crewing. There *are* some easy jobs, like the sweep vans or bus liaison, but most jobs are pretty intense. You can usually figure on being on your feet for at least 10 hours out of the day, with very few breaks to sit down. At the end of Day 1, I felt *exactly* as if I had walked 20 miles. Days 2 and 3 were just about as bad. Thank God for ibuprophen.

Still, congratulations! Don't sell yourself short - you managed to do more than most people ever imagine themselves doing. I'm proud of both of you!
