So, I suspect you’re all ready for an update, so here we go.
I have now been on the ship for 3 Juneaus so I think I am pretty acclimatized. I have stopped referring to the days by their names, but rather reefer to them by their destination. Thus, three Juneaus translates to the start of my third week I guess.
I am still learning loads. I ran my own BINGO paperwork yesterday and will do again this afternoon. It’s nerve wracking because any little math errors come out of my paycheck at the end. I wouldn’t mind so much if they still gave us commissions like they used to, but now there’s no real incentive other than losing money to do things the right way and encourage the passengers to come. I have half a mind to tell them the wrong location so I don’t have to bother with the cards. Of course I wouldn’t, but the thought has crossed my mind a few times…
Joe, the ACD (Assistant Cruise Director) from the last 2 weeks went home to LA< so now we have Barrach a very energetic and hilarious Cannook from Ottowa. He’s a great sport though and indulged with me in a Titanic moment last night on the bow after a night in the officer’s bar… It was 2:15 AM and the sun was either just coming up or just going down… I don’t know that it ever really sets when we’re up this far. (Near Hubbard Glacier today).
The ice is good today. Pretty much the same as last week.
Had a good time in Victoria the other day. I was happy to be off the ship and eating non-Lido deck food. We did a bit of shopping and settled in at Earl’s on Government Street. (I highly recommend it). Couldn’t find Fruits and Passion mom, and I am stuck on the ship in Victoria this week, but I will try again next week, or get Cassandra, Barrach or Drew to do it.
Lastly, I thought you might enjoy a little tour of my habitat, so I will try to post those pics when I A) get time, and B) get a reliable internet connection…. There’s no telling when that will be.
Off to go fetch my laundry before my underwear disappears… (what fun being 1 of about 60 women among a crew of 800+ men stuck on a ship…..)
