today, part 2

I gave The Boss a card and "gift" for Boss's Day, which is tomorrow! I am such a geek, but that's OK. It works for me. Anyway, I say "gift" because here is what I did: After failing to think of a good gag gift or a truly valuable gift, I opted for the supremely practical route. While I was home for dinner (total time in the house - about 15 minutes), I grabbed a yellow gift bag, tissue paper, and some blue ribbon. I got to church 10 minutes before choir and raided the office. I stole 5 pencils and sharpened them and also took 4 pads of the small post-its that Larry always keeps at the organ. Larry actually walked by as I was standing there sharpening pencils. Thankfully he was on his way downstairs and just kept walking! Anyway, I ducked into a stairwell where I wouldn't be seen and assembled my gift. I tied up the pencils and post-its into 2 little bundles, using the aforementioned blue ribbon, and put them in the gift bag. Voila! An incredibly practical and mildly amusing Boss's Day gift. Also, it just so happened that the colors were blue and yellow (yellow bag, yellow post-its, yellow #2 pencils, blue ribbon), which is perfect since Larry is a UMich grad. Score! I gave him the gift after choir, and it was a hit. Like I said the other day: The Boss is my favorite.

On the downside, school = pretty sucktastic right now. We have a looong way to go to get things where the need to be, esp. with 8th grade. Yikes.

Anywho, off to catch the end of the debate....
