our world

i will forever be indebted to paniolo99 for turning me on to "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond.

i'm wondering, is there anyone in my social circle that has read GGS and "The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein? Anyone?

i'd love to chat with you. i'll even pay for libations.

and does anyone have any recommendations for books along the lines of these two? that is, world views based on actual, documented, non-wishful-thinking historical facts with no or little bias? sure sure, i'll check and see what the Amazon marketing robot spews out and make another trip to Monkey Wrench Books, but i'm also looking for a human opinion.

thanks mucho.

and by the way, i beyond highly recommend these two books, along with Howard Zinn's "People's History of the United States" and of course, Noam Chomsky-with-a-grain-of-salt.
